It was the beginning of November when Murakami and Sayako had been called in for a chat with the Elder Boss. He kept the call short and vague but judging by his tone, it was urgent.

He was once the Boss of the Yakuza group, Shie Hassaikai. After the raid, he retired and resides in the quieter side of a town far from the city.

They sat with him in his veranda overlooking the greenery and sandy landscape. With that view, the city seems non-existent.

Sayako read the file out loud as Murakami handed it to her. "Deternat?"

The Boss lowers his head with a slight grunt. With the security guards behind him and his intense look, he still had the aura of the head of the Hassaikai.

"A company that specializes in lifestyle support items," he says, "Recently, they've been talks of expanding into the Hero industry." He then looked at the side. "My thanks for your generous supply of apples, Sara."

"Don't leave out the apple pies and tarts, Old Man. They are the most prized delicacies in the Estate," Murakami said.

The Aunt-Niece duo had to spend a night at her Apple Estate a couple of miles away which explains the overload of gift-wrapped apple pies and baskets packed at the side of the veranda.

"Considering Deternet's lack of revenue, shifting to the Hero Industry sounds like a good change for the company," Sayako noted, staying on topic. "Have they been involved in illegal operations?"

"Not the kind you're thinking of." The Boss looks at Murakami. "It's run by Rikiya Yotsubashi, son of Destro. Nevertheless, that's the least concerning part."

Noticing the change of expressions from the adults, the confused one asks, "Who's Destro?"

"In the early days, quirks - Meta-abilities - were not as openly used compared to now," He answered. "Until one woman gave birth to a child with an ability and demanded otherwise."

Sayako perked up. "The Mother of Quirks."

"Her son, Destro, had continued her lineage," Murakami continued, after taking a sip of her tea. "Got arrested, wrote a book, and ended his life in his own cell."

Sounds like a familiar plot from a book.  Sayako dug through her bag and pulled out a red book. "This one?"

"Where did you get this?" The Boss asks.

"A copy of the original," she confirmed. "It's all over the country: every bookstore had it."
