Her eyes rolled almost in sync with the female voice that she managed to hear from the hole she made. It was the first girl she had heard in weeks, and it was definitely the last one she was going to hear. She wouldn't have cared. It was Friday night, she didn't have to wake up early the next day. She probably would've kept her cool if Jungkook was a good guy, which he wasn't. Her lips were pursed as she tried to come up with something to ruin his night.
The only reason she was considering being nice to him was that article. And he ruined it. He played with her, and later admitted he wasn't even considering helping her.
She was sure nothing would stop him, not even the police did the first few weeks he moved in. Probably he'd only stop if he felt forced to.
And what's a bigger motive than panicking because they had cut your electricity?
She got out of her bed, moving her sheets away as she slipped her feet inside her slippers.
It wasn't like she had done something like that ever before, but it suddenly scared her to think that she could end up electrocuted if she touched the wrong place.
—3B, 3B... —she looked out loud.
Each apartment had its own electricity meter, with Jungkook's being next to hers. Her face lit up as soon as she saw it, rushing to touch a few things, moving down the small lever before she stepped outside the small and dark room again.
Jungkook huffed when his house went completely dark out of nowhere, getting Brit to break the kiss almost instantly to push him away and look around.
—It's just a blackout —he tried to shrug it off, leaning again over her—. It's not like we need any lights for what we're going to do —he mumbled.
—I don't care —she pushed him away, trying to look at him through the darkness.
Huffing, Jungkook got up first, walking towards the main door to check whether it was just his apartment dealing with problems with electricity. And it seemed like it was, since the landing looked bright as soon as he clicked the switch.
He had no problems with his bills. It wasn't like he earned a big fortune through the gym and the fights, but it was enough to pay his expenses and spend it on things he wanted to.
Like going out that night and meeting someone to take home.
Confused, he walked to Y/n's apartment, wondering if it was a problem related to the apartments and the electricity meters and not the building itself. And it seemed like it was when her house was completely dark as she opened the door.
—You, too? —he asked.
—Yeah. I was watching a movie, and it all went black out of nowhere —she lied—. I called one of the old ladies on the fourth floor, to know whether they were having the same problem, and they told me it seems like it's a problem with the apartments. Apparently the owners had the same problems years ago —she tilted her head—. She told me it's a problem related to those things that look like a thermostat.
—It's an electricity meter —he corrected her.
She rolled her eyes at the way he attempted to outsmart her on something she already knew.
—I'll go take a look —he informed her.
Her eyes followed him, seeing how he peeked his head inside his apartment to then move out again, until he turned the angle of the lift to go downstairs. As soon as he disappeared, Y/n turned on her lights again.
And it seemed like the universe was smiling at her by the way his fling showed up not even a second later, with her arms crossed over the rounded cleavage of her red dress. The girl smiled shyly at her, waving her hand, barely moving it away from her forearm.
