The person who seemed to have taken a wrong turn on the way to their room was now comfortably seated beside me, appearing composed and relaxed.

I concentrated on my breakfast because my stomach was making sounds due to hunger. I tried to take a glance at the man but he was already too much into the phone.

"Switch off your phone, Abhishek." Papa's voice broke my chain of thoughts and looked at him.

"Papa, it's important." I heard him speaking. Everyone who was using their phone quickly shoved it into their pockets but he seemed adamant not to do it.

"I don't care. If you are in my house you follow my rules. You have such a beautiful wife sitting beside you. Look at her instead of your phone." And after hearing his father here I choked on my muesli.

My coughs rang into the dining room and Ashika quickly passed me water. I hurriedly sipped on it to get some air.

"Aram se beta," Papa spoke and I nodded. With my side eye, I looked at my husband who was chucking as if he heard a joke.

Once an Asshole, always an Asshole.

"Beta, now you serve everyone the halwa you made for your first rasoi," Chachi announced and slid the chair behind me as I walked to grab the bowl of halwa.

I served it in small bowls and passed everyone. The last bowl was left and my husband was left too. I picked up the bowl and kept it near its plate.

"I don't eat sugar." He spoke the moment I placed it near him. The eyes were on him now.

"I don't care," I whispered as I moved to sit at my old place again. I took a spoonful of it and devoured its taste. It was delicious.

"Bhabhi! Omg! This is so so good." Aditya spoke and a smile flashed on my face. Chalo! I was now successful.

"Beta! The halwa, is the best I ate till date." My father-in-law spoke and I responded with a thank you. Chachi, Chachu and Ashika always showered me with compliments.

And I looked beside me. The bowl was still untouched. I would have never done this even if he was my enemy. I would have eaten it just to keep the heart. But he is a bastard of all.
