"I LIKE SHINY THINGS, BUT I'D MARRY YOU WITH PAPER RINGS."

MIDNIGHTS ALWAYS SEEMED TO roll around much faster than every other hour in the day.

Midnights were comforting, in a way. The dark sky, the moonlight shining down on the roads, the somewhat quieter sound of cars swooshing by.

Andie laid backwards on her bed playing Roblox on her phone, wearing Peter's hoodie that fit big on her and short shorts.

Tap, tap, tap.

At first, the thought of 'Crap, I'm about to be robbed and raped.' popped into her head, and then the second thought was 'Oh, it's my sticky fingers!'.

Being in love felt like being wrapped in a warm blanket. It was . . . wonderful, to say the least.

Andie opened the window, to see the familiar red suit staring back at her. "Hi, there, sticky fingers!" she smiled.

The concealed face that belonged to her boyfriend smiled, she could tell by the eyes on the suit squinting. "Hi, love." he whispered back.

Andie waved Peter into her bedroom, he did a flip and rolled into the room. "Is — Is —" started Peter, getting cut off by Andie.

She chuckled, "Maman isn't . . . she won't know, or care. Probably." she giggled, sitting on the edge of her bed.

Peter awkwardly scratched the back of his head, "Um — ro — roof?" he offered, getting a nod from Andie in response.

The Spider — man scooped his girlfriend up, and walked up the side of the building up to the roof off her apartment. The two sat at the edge of the building, their legs dangling off the side as Peter tore off the mask, and took the suit off, unleashing his day outfit.

The city lights at night gave Andie happiness, to see everyone living their own lives. "If I fell off the roof right now, would you save me?" she randomly asked.

Without a beat, Peter immediately nodded his head. "Yes. I would do anything in the world just to make sure you're okay. If I was fighting someone and you got so much as a scratch, I would fucking kill them." he said, much too calm for such an intense thing to say.

She laid her head on his shoulder as their fingers interlocked. Love, what a weird thing. Giving them the last bite, even though you want it. Doing everything in your power to make them laugh, just because you want — no, because you need to hear the melody of their laughter. Buying them little, stupid trinkets because it reminds you of them, making playlists, sending stupid memes to make them laugh. Love.

Andie looked at the little people walking by, "People watch?" she offered with a grin.

Peter snorted, nodding. "Absolutely." he chuckled. "Okay, I think that girl is an art teacher." he started, pointing to one of the little people.

She tilted her head, looking to the woman. "Hey, I know her! Shauna! Shauna!" she screamed down to the road, as Peter quickly jumped from the very loud voice from directly beside him.

The little silhouette of Shauna waved back, as Andie got a text from her asking if Andie was the one screaming at her. "She owns my favourite little café. Y'know what? I'm gonna take you there one day. Sometime soon, Shauna's the best, you're going to love her!" Andie giggled. "Okay, that dude, the one with the two babies. The kids are twins, he's not the dad, but he doesn't know. He's raising them but he always kinda known deep, deep down that his wife is a fat cheater, but he raises the kids and loves them the most ever and they have the best childhood, but then when he finds out that they aren't his, he cuts them both off completely and never speaks to them again." she takes a deep inhale after her long, breathless rambling. "Woof. Winded!" she sighs.

He chuckled, "That was . . . dark."

A moment of silence engulfs them both, it wasn't awkward, it was comforting. They both were content, there wasn't a need for words.

She turns her head to him, "This is kinda a weird question, but d — do you want . . . kids one day?" his eyes meet hers after the random, blunt question.

For a moment, Peter's brown eyes were on Andie's, until he started feeling awkward, looked down and started playing with his fingers. "Um — yeah. I guess I do. What do you want?" he asks back.

He was gorgeous, he was perfect. She loved him, she wanted a future with him. Yes, they might've been young, but Andie wanted to spend the rest of her life with him. "Yeah. I want kids." she nodded.

Peter turned to her, after she had already turned her head around. She was everything Peter ever wanted. "What else do you want?" he tilted his head. He knew her well, too well, he knew that Andie wasn't the type of person to settle for anything.

Andie turned her head near his, their eyes meeting. "I want three kids, one boy then two girls. I want a home just outside of the city, so then you can do your Spidey stuff and I can live in my little cottage. I want to have a career, I want to be a journalist, a successful one." she giggled as she talked.

Watching her was Peter's favourite show, all her little mannerisms, the way her nose squinted before she laughed. The way she always threw her head back, and hit people as she laughed. "I know you, Andie, you want more. What else?" a light smile came on his face. He loved listening to her talk.

"I want to have a field behind the house! I want to have a white cottage, with blue shutters with little hearts on them. This might be a little too on the nose, but I want to name the boy after my dad and nickname him 'Lou'. I want to have a big porch where we can watch the sun go down across the meadow in the backyard! I want a lot, but it'll be calm and happy."

Peter smiled widely, "I can make that happen." he whispers.

"You're a dork."

"I can be that."

"Promise?"

"Pinky."

Love. It was amazing, comforting. Love. How weird?

A part of Andie didn't fully trust the feeling of love, it was hard. How are supposed to live your life, saying things to someone that are much too vulnerable, and just blindly trust that they won't break your heart.

Andie widely, very widely smiled and tackled him into a hug, moving him into the middle of the roof.

Now lying on top of Peter's dignified body, Andie kissed him. "I — love — you." she mumbled between kisses.

She was about to roll off of his body, until he pulled her back closer by grabbing her waist. "Nope, you're legally obligated to stay right here in my arms." he shook his head, getting another big smile on Andie's face before she crashed her lips back on to his.

The two started kissing passionately, Peter flipped Andie over, she was now on the bottom. "I'm gonna marry you one day, okay?" he added as he nibbled his way down to her neck.

A quiet moan escaped her lips as she smiled. "No complaints here." she giggled. She was happy, oh so happy.

Wouldn't it be nice if that promise had been kept?
