As Sana made her way through the bustling backstage corridors, her mind raced with anticipation for the encore performance. But her thoughts were abruptly interrupted when she crossed paths with a familiar figure she never expected to see in this exclusive idol territory.
Y/N stood before her, her presence a jolt to Sana's senses. She was stunned to see Y/N there, amidst a sea of idols preparing for their performances.
"Sana?" Y/N's voice was soft, tinged with surprise and genuine warmth as she greeted her ex-lover.
Sana's heart skipped a beat at the sight of Y/N, her breath catching in her throat as she struggled to compose herself.
"Y/N, how are you?" Sana managed to utter, her voice filled with a mixture of sadness and longing.
Y/N's smile was radiant, devoid of any bitterness or resentment as she replied, "I'm doing well, Sana. Really well."
Despite the ache in her heart, Sana couldn't help but feel a sense of pride and happiness for Y/N's apparent contentment.
"I'm glad to hear that," Sana murmured, her gaze lingering on Y/N's face, committing every detail to memory.
Before Sana could inquire further about Y/N's presence backstage, their conversation was interrupted by the arrival of another girl, her eyes widening in awe at the sight of Sana.
"Senior Sana!" the girl exclaimed, bowing deeply in reverence.
Sana smiled politely, accustomed to the adoration of her juniors, but her attention was drawn back to Y/N, who chuckled at the girl's excitement.
Realization dawned on Sana as she observed the matching theme outfits worn by Y/N and the girl, a telltale sign of their shared profession.
"You've debuted," Sana whispered to herself, a bittersweet smile tugging at the corners of her lips as she remembered the dreams they had both shared which is to become an idol.
Y/N noticed the combination of happiness and sadness in Sana's eyes and offered a gentle apology, her voice tinged with regret.
"I'm sorry for intruding on your time, Sana," Y/N said softly, her hand reaching out to touch Sana's arm briefly. "I should go. Good luck with your performance."
With a heavy heart, Sana watched as Y/N and the girl disappeared into the crowd, her mind filled with a whirlwind of emotions.
Before she could gather her thoughts, her manager's voice broke through her reverie, reminding her of her duties as an idol.
As she stepped onto the stage for the encore, the cheers of the crowd washed over her, but her mind remained fixated on the fleeting encounter with Y/N, a reminder of the past she couldn't quite let go of.
And as she danced and sang under the bright lights, Sana couldn't shake the feeling that, despite the success and adoration surrounding her, a part of her would always belong to and longed Y/N.
