It's been about two days since I've been back at Pacific laboratories since the incident. Deciding to go back home I get changed into some clean clothes, wrapping a soft fluffy blanket around me as I sit cross legged on my bed. I have a bad feeling about all of this since the incident, like somethings going on behind the scenes. Something big. Something that they're hiding.
Titus had of course tried to stop me to go that day. It was a mess, there was growling, fists thrown and guards thrown about the place. I ended up having to try and calm him down which well.... also didn't really work out either since he wouldn't let go of me.
I pull my blanket tighter around myself, relishing in the softness of my mattress under my body—far more comfortable than the bed at the labs. I switch on the TV and flick through the channels, ending up on a cheesy romcom. I took out the glass tablet and opened it to see the details that Dr. Michaelson had sent regarding the upcoming tests.
Scheduled tests:
This week's test is slated to evaluate the beast's enhanced healing capacity. This will be put to the test by subjecting Miss Hart and the beast to a variety of tests.
What the actual fuck? What sort of experiments?
I believe both the beast and Miss Hart share a rare type of bond that has been created due to the animal DNA within the beast, and plan to test this through some tests and trials in the next and upcoming weeks.
On the day of the event, participants will be informed of the tests and trials in order to go over all pertinent details and information. Everyone who works with the beast must report to the lab every day at eight in the morning. The effectiveness of the tests and the data we receive will determine how long you stay at the lab. Be ready for long hours at this point in time.
Don't be late.
- Doctor Michaelson.
Why would they need to test me for?... And what tests?
A ringing from my phone breaks me out of my deep thought. I scramble towards the table, my phone still on a low percentage as I try to answer the call with how short the lead is.
"Have you read it?" He said immediately after answering the call. I can hear the worry in his voice. If he's worried that's not good.
"Yeah... They're going to test me and Titus tomorrow. What does that even mean?"
"I'm not sure. Since I've heard nothing about it, I can assume that Dr. Michaelson is the only one who came up with this. He's either getting way ahead of himself with these tests, or he's up to something."
Yeah I vote the latter on that idea.
"Do you know what the tests are?" I become even more worried the longer this conversation goes on for. I almost fall off my bed from trying not to pull my phone charger from the wall. I straighten myself up quickly, trying to catch what Caleb said.
"If I'm being honest Eudora. I have no clue. Probably some phycological shit, like testing whatever this 'bond' is, it's gotta be something mental right?"
"You're telling me they're going to give me a puzzle and I've got to solve it?" I try to joke, hoping it will lighten the mood. I don't think it's working.
"Well that's not exactly what I was thinking of but sure. Let's go with that if it makes the both of us feel better."
There's a long pause between the both of us, as we think this over. It's not making me feel better. Not even close.
