I walked into my home with my friends, having a missing presence beside me while they were pairing up with each other ,Elena and Stefan, and Jenna Bonnie.

"Hi, dad." I wave over to my father
entering the house, before my friends.

"Hi, sweetie." My father responded, sending a smile my way.

"Hi, Mayor Lockwood." Elena respectfully waves her hand over. My dad puts his hand on my shoulder.

"Hey guys, come on in, have fun, and enjoy!" He beams over to my friends, inviting them in. "No drinking, your mothers rules." He whispers in my ear.

I send him a nod and then smiling, I walk towards Caroline, but she just walks away. Hopefully, she doesn't see me. She normally accompanies me to these things, but she guess has someone to go with now.

"Hey Jenna!" I see her walk past the corridor with a glass of wine in her hand. "You okay? I know these things are boring, I have to go to them every year." I take the glass out of her hand, taking a sip.

"I could never, but you probably don't get a choice, huh?" The redhead questions. I shake my head left to right in response, taking another sip of wine.

I quickly stop seeing Logan Fell walking over to us. He's on the council and could probably tell my mother and father. I shove the glass back to her before I put on a fake smile in front of him.

"Jenna." He sighs out, "Ms. Lockwood." He bows in mockery. I roll my eyes as Jenna takes another glass of wine from one of the waiter's tray. I take the glass I previously had been drinking from her hands again, not caring what he thought, I could tell just by Jennas reaction that he was an asshole.

"I'm going to go look for Elena. Are you okay here?" I throw Logan a glance before looking at her in the eyes seriously.

"Yeah, I'm good. I was just leaving, anyway." I nod and walk off, but not before giving Logan another dirty look.

I looked around for a few seconds, hiding the glass of wine in my leather jacket, hoping my parents weren't anywhere around. I found Elena and Stefan in the room where all the old items from the 1860s or later. This was definitely my favourite part of the founders' party/founders day. All the history in this room was overwhelming.

"Is that Damon Salvatore...and Stefan Salvatore?" Oh, I've seen this list from the first founders party I was at, when I was 5, and I have known Stefan a while and never put the pieces together. His parents might have been into  history, too, especially since they're the one of founding families. My thoughts are interrupted as I get an unsettling chill, startling me to my core.

"The original Salvatore brothers. Our ancestors, tragic story, actually." A familiar but unwanted voice came from behind us. I don't turn to not wanting to draw attention to my fear.

"We don't need to bore them with stories from the past." Stefan says in a protective tone, obviously not wanting Damon here as much as me. I walk over to some other items, looking at some of the stuff the Fells loaned to the party.

"It's not boring, Stefan. I'd love to learn more about your family." Elena shyly states," I could tell she had a smile on her face, even if I wasn't looking.

"Well, I'm bored. I wanna dance." Caroline butt's trough the couples conversation. "And Damon won't dance with me. So can I borrow your date?" She continues her annoyance with him seeping through her happy tone. I turn around, putting my confidence on display.

"We could dance care. Just like old times." I smirk with confidence, not wanting to seem low.

"Well, I kinda asked Stefan so..? You wouldn't mind Elena?" My eyebrows frown at her response. She's been acting really weird since she's been in a relationship with Damon.

"Umm, it's up to Stefan." I could tell Elena wasn't really comfortable, so I decided to put my confidence act back on.

"I'm not gonna take no for an answer." Caroline says before I step in.

"That's fine, Caroline. Me and Elena can dance. If you will, my lady." I hold my hand out to her in a proper manner.  Caroline took Stefan before I said I was gonna go check up on my mother, and then Elena and I could dance.

When I got back, Elena and her boyfriends brother we're talking about the battle of Willow Creak.

"What the history books left out was that the people who were killed weren't there on accident. They were believed to be union sympathizers. So, some founders on the confederacy side back then wanted them rounded up and buried." As Damon speaks, he slowly makes his way over to the small dollhouse sized version of the fell church that was, the church where the people were buried alive.
"Damon and Stefan had someone they loved very much in that church. They went to rescue them, and they were shot. Murdered in cold blood."

"Who's was in the church, who they wanted to save? Or do you know?" I ask him as he seems to know a lot about the subject.

"A woman, I guess?" He turned his head to me while answering my question, but then turned his head back to Elena, continuing. "Doesn't it always come down to the love of a woman?" He asks, but more it seems more like a statement.

I start feeling uncomfortable by them staring at each other, so I butt in. "So Elena, you still down to dance." I ask with a smile.

"Of course!" She beams, grabbing my hand but stops in front of Damon. "I'm really sorry about what happened between you and Stefan and Katherine. And I mean that." She looks at him sincerely before turning to me with a smile.

"Ready?" I giggle, dragging her towards the dance, interlocking our biceps/forearms.

"Ready as I'll every be." She jokes, a smile beaming on her face. If only they knew Damon was looking at them with a face full of sadness remembering the night he turned. He walks in the same direction of the two women in front of him, hoping to find Stefan or his bite to eat.
