The scene starts in training grounds as we can see Shadis walking towards Armin.
Shadis: Hey, you!
Armin: Sir!
He says while doing a salute.
Shadis: Who the hell are you?!
Armin: Armin Arlert, from Shiganshima District!
Shadis: I see! That's a ridiculous name! Did your parents give it to you?!
Armin: My grandfather did, Sir!
Shadis: Arlert! Why are you here?!
Armin: To help humanity achieve victory!
Shadis: That's wonderful to hear! We can feed you to the Titans! Third row, about face!
He says turning armin 180° as he then walks towards next recruit.
Shadis: Who the hell are you?!
Thomas: Sir! Thomas Wagner, from Trost District!
Shadis: I can't hear you!
Thomas:Thomas Wagner---
Shadis: I can't hear you! Go practice in a barn!
He yells as camera shows captain of training corp with someone behind him.
Captain: Look at then go. You went through the same thing when you started as a cadet, didn't you?
Solider: It takes me back.
As then camera switches back go Shadis who's yelling at girl with black hair.
Shadis: No! You're from a pigsty! You're less than livestock!
Girl: Yes, Sir! I am less than livestock!
Shadis: No!
Solider: But what's all that intimidation for?
Captain: It's a rite of passage. We revert them to a blank slate through the use if self-denial, after which we mold them into proper soliders.
He says as camera switches to Shadis who's yelling again.
Shadis: Change it at once! Why are you here?!
Captain: This is one step in that process.
Boy: To devote myself to humankind!
