11th Century, Unknown Location
The warrior stood motionless, his eyes tightly shut. The atmosphere around him had shifted, carrying with it an unfamiliar scent. Abruptly, he snapped his eyes open, confronted by a strange and vibrant scene. The place he found himself in was entirely foreign to him.
Vividly colored walls adorned with intricate patterns covered the unfamiliar floor. The time machine had succeeded in transporting him to a different era, but he struggled to comprehend his surroundings.
Driven by curiosity, the warrior resolved to explore this bizarre environment. As he took his first steps, he noticed the enclosing walls surrounding him. He had entered a labyrinth. Inhaling deeply, he endeavored to center his thoughts.
Before proceeding, he glanced at the paper clutched in his hand, identifying his next target: General Li Ling. Tucking the paper into his pocket, he refocused his attention on his surroundings.
The enigmatic patterns surrounding him were utterly unfamiliar. Though ancient in appearance, the humidity in the air and the whispers of the wind assured him that he remained in his own time. The position of the sun indicated that he was somewhere in the east.
As he cautiously progressed through the maze, a silhouette materialized amidst the echoing footsteps. Gradually, the silhouette drew nearer until a man emerged, his face veiled in mystery.
Coming to a halt, the warrior retrieved his sword from his back and leveled it at the man before him. The cold steel flashed, filling the air with gleaming light and resounding echoes that reverberated through the labyrinth's corridors. The man slowly raised his hands, assuming a defensive posture.
Fixing his gaze intently on his sword, the warrior inquired, his voice simultaneously harsh and tinged with curiosity, "Who are you?"
The man offered a cryptic smile and replied, "I am merely a soldier, lost and unarmed." He kept his hands raised.
Though tall and muscular, the man appeared weary, his eyes burdened with the fatigue of war. It would be imprudent for the warrior to act aggressively in this unfamiliar place.
Despite the apparent lack of weaponry or defenses, the warrior approached the man cautiously, lowering his sword to the ground. He asked, "Why are you here? And where does this labyrinth lead?"
The man's enigmatic smile persisted as he answered, "It is surprising that you find yourself here without knowledge of the Wishing Labyrinth."
The warrior responded with astonishment, "Wishing Labyrinth?"
Observing the warrior's confusion, the man hesitated, preparing to explain the situation. However, their conversation was abruptly interrupted by an unwanted sound emanating from a nearby location.
Exchanging a brief glance, the warrior and the man became aware of approaching footsteps. Realizing an unknown danger was drawing near, they made the decision to join forces. The man turned to the warrior and declared, "I believe we must trust each other now."
Meanwhile, strange noises reverberated through the labyrinth's corridors. Swiftly moving creatures emitted peculiar hissing sounds, resembling crocodiles but larger, faster, and more ferocious. The man redirected his attention to the warrior and warned, "We must evade them; otherwise, victory will be impossible."
The warrior perceived the determination in the man's eyes and trusted the tension etched across his face. Nodding in agreement, he replied, "Very well."
The two warriors embarked on a frantic sprint through the labyrinth's complex corridors. The soldier, seemingly familiar with the labyrinth's layout, assumed the lead. However, the number of crocodile-like creatures continued to multiply.
