It like a highway.

On one end, there were the ones who had just arrived. The ones who's lives in Hell had just ended.

And on the other end were their loved ones who had goms before. They were coming back to see the new arrivals and walk with them.

To where they go after Hell.

To Whatever Comes Next.

As Loona appeared on the highway, she looked around at the seemingly thousands of new arrivals.

Well, I suppose a ton of people get killed in Hell every day.

As Loona looked further away, she noticed the ones who had gone before coming to see the new arrivals.

Loona scanned the faces of the ones who had gone before, looking for one person in particular.

And then she saw him.

She watched as he frantically weaved his way through the other ones who had gone before.

Loona choked back a sob. How many years had it been since she had seen him last? Before his untimely death had left her all alone?

When his eyes met hers, they both felt themselves falling apart.

Loona began to cry as she ran at him. Her Max. Her mate. Her light. The love of her life.

And Max began to run at her, faster than any of the other ones who had gone before.

And in the middle of the highway, they embraced.

Max took Loona into his arms and gripped her tighter than he ever had before. Loona didn't care.

They both cried into each other. It had been years since they had felt the touch of their love.

The other ones who had gone before greeted the newcomers as Loona and Max continued their tearful reunion.

No words were spoken between them.

After all, what could words say? "I love you"? "I missed you"? No, there were no words to describe this one infinite moment as Max and Loona wept in each other's arms.

Seemingly hours later, Max pulled back and kissed Loona's forehead.

It was the first kiss from her love that Loona had felt for so long, and she melted to his touch.

The two noticed that the ones who had gone before and the newcomers were beginning to walk down the highway and toward Whatever Comes Next.

Max kept one arm wrapped around his wife. His Loona. His mate. The love of his life.

As the two joined the others in walking down the highway, Max whispered a quiet promise that only Loona heard.

"I'll never let you go again."
