"I don't know how this is going to workout." Fatima stated
"You want me to ask you to come home, but I'm not doing it. You have a key and you know that you want to come home."
"I still want you to ask me."
"No, I said that it's your choice."
"I'm coming home."
"About time." Mona said
"I forgot that y'all were on the phone." Fatima said
"I was just letting y'all talk. I wasn't trying to be in yall business, but we here now."
"Well, I'm going home." The nurse walked in and checked Fatima and the baby. She started moving.
"Excuse me, another nurse said that my child would be going to the nursery. I don't want my child in there." Zac said
"That's where she's weighed, changed, and other tests are ran. We have a machine downstairs." The nurse said
"How heavy is the machine? I can lift the machine and put it into this room." Zac said
Gladys and Mona started laughing on the machine. "There's no way that he just said that."
"That's your son." Gladys said.
"The tests will only take about 20 minutes. If it makes you feel more comfortable, I'll send a nurse to update you after 10 minutes on your baby."
"There's no way that I can watch though?"
"There isn't, I'm sorry."
"This is frustrating."
"I can assure you that your child is in safe hands. She'll be fine."
"Okay." Zac said. The nurse took her and it annoyed Zac. He didn't like her being away from him. He wanted to watch her to assure that she was okay.
"Calm down." Fatima said
"How? My baby is probably crying for us. She could've just ran her tests up here. I have a scale that she could use."
"I know good and well you're not talking about the scale that you put weed on."
"When the scale came, it said that it can be used for various things."
"Zac, really?"
"Yes, I miss my baby."
"Well, at least you miss her because you sure don't miss me."
"That's not true. I never said that I didn't miss you. Do you think that I enjoy no longer having a fiancé? Going to sleep alone? Cooking for one? Going to work not knowing if I'll ever have you back? Asking your mom for updates on you? Wondering if you'll ever talk to me again."
Zac didn't know that the nurse had came in. "I know I'm not supposed to do anything but work as a nurse, but I can tell that you guys love each other. I haven't seen many cryptic pregnancy cases while being a nurse, but there's always one thing in common. The distance between the parents before giving birth. There are things that you sometimes can't control. Being extremely emotional, confusion, and other things that can't be described. I want you both to leave this hospital together. It doesn't have to mean being together, but the love is way too strong to just let it go." The nurse turned to walk away. "By the way, your daughter is already spoiled. She fussed the entire time until she got back up here. She loves her parents." The nurse left.
"She's right, I didn't know what I was feeling while being pregnant. It was all super weird."
"Now that I think about it, you've been acting differently for a few months. I just thought that you were tired from work. The baby argument was just the icing on the cake."
