"Where are you staring?" Seonghwa laughed when he caught me looking in a certain direction for a little too long.
We were sitting in math class and had just had a break. I actually wanted to spend the break doing my homework with the person sitting next to me, Hwa, because we never felt like doing that after university. But for a week now, I've been busy with something completely different than the stupid math problems. 
This was my younger colleague Song Mingi. 
At first, I was very good at keeping my feelings to myself. But since we were at university together, I kind of liked him. I didn't know exactly what had triggered my feelings. Whether it was his smile, his always colorful hair - unfortunately he had it short and black at the moment because he got an official penalty from the lecturers - or his silly, loud manner.
 Sadly, with Mingi you often didn't know when he was joking, when he was being sarcastic, and when he was being serious. I could never quite figure him out, but somehow I still fell in love with him. I also didn't really understand why my heart beat faster with him. Especially as we had only known each other since the beginning of our studies and had never done anything together. But when I was with him, he always tried to include me and made sure I was part of the group. I was a total introvert and Mingi made it easier for me to be in a group with others.
But as I said, he's been haunting my mind a bit more for a week now. Because a week ago, outside the university courtyard, Mingi asked me for a quick chat. While his friends watched us from a distance, Mingi said that he liked me. 
When a strange silence broke out between us, nobody said anything and I was totally overwhelmed by the situation and didn't know what to say, he ran back to his friends as if nothing had happened. They walked away laughing and he left me alone...
I was frustrated and had the feeling that I was being totally taken for a ride. Had Mingi lost a bet and therefore had to say something like that to me? Or even worse - did they know about my feelings and wanted to make fun of me?
I let out a sigh at these thoughts but was immediately hit by Hwa. "Ouch," I hissed, rubbing my arm and adjusting my glasses. "Are you even listening to me or are you busy staring at your crush?" 
My eyes turned to the front and I laughed playfully. "Yes, sorry..." I admitted and looked forward again. Mingi laughed and nodded to his colleagues when he suddenly came over to us. "Hyungs?" he asked, grabbing a chair and sitting backwards on it. Seonghwa gave me an ambiguous look and kicked me with his foot. 
Mingi's attention immediately turned to me smiled warmly, and then glanced at my necklace. "Oh, is that new? Nice," he said and took the chain that was around my neck in his hand. "Yes, exactly." I laughed and looked down at my necklace before looking up at Mingi's face. "And you have new earrings too! All from Prada? Seems to be your favorite brand."
He put his hand on my ear and stroked it with his thumb. He was damn close to me. I swallowed hard and couldn't get a word out. "Really pretty," he laughed and then pulled something out of his jacket pocket before putting it on the table.
Oh man, why couldn't I say anything, this is so embarrassing... "What are you doing tonight?" There was a BBQ voucher on the table for a free meal for yourself and your companion.
