It was a normal day for Hwang Mi-ae, waking up, getting ready, getting scolded by her mother, leaving for school, greeting Kim Cheol, avoiding Mo Jinseop, basically just her day-to-day activities.

Well— it was.

She had come home from school and had done some of her work. Her mom however, needed to buy groceries but she's quite busy so she made Mi-ae buy them instead.

Sighing heavily, Mi-ae got up and got ready while muttering incoherent complaints.

Ah! I was gonna read the new "Number One"!! What a waste of my time…

Opening the minimarket doors, she grabbed a cart and pulled out a list her mom provided her.

Asparagus… milk, beans.. — beans?! Really?!

Sighing once again, she quickly made her way to the designated aisles. Mi-ae really didn't wanna buy the beans, she hoped she could just make up an excuse about how she 'forgot' to buy them. But her mother is a sharp woman. She would either make her go to the grocery store again or would ground her for lying.

Hwang Mi-ae was now sulking, she wanted to play with Moonk outside. She wanted to read her comics. She wanted to play with Kim Cheol. Huh—?

Kim Cheol? Hey, isn't that Kim Cheol?

"Kim— oh.." Mi-ae wanted to call out Cheol, that's for sure, she just couldn't. Maybe if he was alone it would be easy for her. But his sister; Kim Sunjeong, had appeared. Mi-ae wanted to talk with Cheol, about anything, really. But she didn't want to interfere with whatever they're conversing about.

Mi-ae just decided to continue her grocery stroll and minded her own business. Her mother would scold her for not having the groceries as her number one priority right now…

"Hm? Oh, hey! Mi-ae!" A voice suddenly greeted the petite girl.

Ah! Sunjeong!

"Hello!" Mi-ae politely bowed.

The green-ish black haired girl looked up, but Kim Cheol was nowhere to be seen… Maybe he was in another aisle…

"I came here with Cheol! So, how is he? Is he nice to you? How's school with him?" Sunjeong suddenly asked. It reminded Mi-ae of some of the other mothers in the neighborhood. They would always ask pointless questions to buy time. "It's… good..! He's nice to me."

Sometimes, that is…

"Oh! Good good. By the way, me, Cheol, and Hwani are gonna have McDonald's later. Wanna join? No parents!" Sunjeong smiled brightly.

Wah… it's impossible to refuse a face like that!

"Ah— alright… I'm sure my mom won't mind."

"Of course she wouldn't! I'll keep you kids watched and make sure nothing bad happens. Here—" She suddenly snatched half of the groceries in Mi-ae's cart. "Woah! What are you doing?!" Mi-ae froze.

"How much are these?" Sunjeong asked the cashier.

She's paying for all that?! Ah, actually that's really nice of her…

Mi-ae felt giddy and warm.

"Eheh, uhm— thank you… " Mi-ae bowed and fiddled with her hoodie. "Don't mention it, me and the others will pick you up yeah? Then we can go downtown and have some McDonald's!" Sunjeong patted Mi-ae's back enthusiastically.
