It is Bernadette's birthday soon and I am very indecisive of what to get her. She is a lady I care very deeply for and appreciate so much that everything I looked at didn't seem special enough.

I did however spend my morning baking, as a small treat for Bernadette, as well as making sure I baked some acceptable for Adore to enjoy too.

In a white laced and ribboned wicker basket are petite and elegant lemon and lavender French fancies that were coated in a light silky icing of either yellow or purple. As for Afore, I had made her peanut butter dog biscuits in the shape of bones with a small amount of peanut butter drizzled across.

The tan-whickered picnic basket hung from my left arm as it gently swayed with each step I took closer to Bernadette's cottage.

It was a warm day, the sun high in the air while the sky was left blue with only the company of a few wispy clouds. I had chosen my outfit based on today's weather, seeing as it was appropriate to wear my white dress.

My white dress that ended mid-thigh rested against me, the support of two thin spaghetti straps on my shoulders while and oversized blue denim with rolled sleeves layered on top. I chose to wear a pair of white slip sandals that are arched with a slight heel and decorated with a bow going across my freshly painted nails.

"Bernie?" I asked aloud upon arriving at the cottage. I walked further into the home with my brows furrowed when I didn't hear any response.

As I walked closer to the kitchen I was greeted by a panting dog.

"Adore! Hello lovely." I smile brightly at the retriever. Her tail wagged side to side with each drop of attention she could absorb.

"Daisy, darling!" My head lifts from its focus on Adore and over to Bernie, who now is walking closer to enclose me in a hug before taking the basket from my arm.

"Hello, Bernie. How's the flowers?" I ask, taking a seat at the wooden table while she searched the basket for its treasure goods.

"They're growing tremendously! If only I could get Adore from picking them and handing them over to people in the market." She rolled her eyes at the mention of her dog picking away at her flowers to gift to others.

I laughed at Bernadette's dig towards the golden retriever who only perks up at the mention of her name and antics.

The three of us decided to move from the small kitchen and out into Bernadette's beloved garden. Wooden teak garden furniture sat softly on top of the grass. Different patterned cushions were placed on the seats of the teak chair.

Adore barked playfully at us both when we finally sat in the cushioned chairs, wagging her tail before she decided to lay in front of us.

"These fancies are amazing, Didi." Bernadette hummed when taking a second bite of her lemon and lavender cakes.

I blushed at the compliment, "I also made Adore some peanut butter biscuits." I stood to dig through the basket to reach the dog biscuits when I heard a bark coming from behind me. I furrowed my brows. That didn't sound like Adore. In fact, it sounded too far away for it to be Adore who was only a few steps away from me.

When I decided to turn around and see who the mysterious bark belonged to, I was shocked at the large dog racing toward me. I couldn't help but feel my eyes widen at the sight of him suddenly leaping in the air. Everything went in slow motion as his slobbery smile got closer to me.

The wind was knocked from my lungs as I was hauled to the soft grass at the weight that was suddenly on top of me.

My face scrunched at the feel of his tongue licking my face.

"Duke!" A familiar voice shouted at the Great Dane.

"Daisy, dear, are you alright?" Bernadette was by my side when Duke finally decided to leap off my body, allowing me to slowly sit myself up.

"Yeah, I'm alright." That damn dog.

"I'm so sorry-" the voice paused. I squinted up at the familiar face who was not only staring at me with a slight smile but with a furrowed brow in confusion.

"You?" we say in unison. That damn owner.

"Oh, you two know each other?" Bernadette asked, helping me up from the ground.

"Yeah, Duke sort of.. knocked her over last night." Harry cringed, rubbing the back of his neck as he awaited the scolding from the elderly lady.

She huffs, shaking her head with both her hands on her hips before we all turn to look at the culprit. Duke sits quite happily beside Adore as they both munch on the dog biscuits I had baked.

"Come on you two," Bernadette calls the two dogs. "I'll be back in a moment," she tells Harry and me.

We both nod, taking a seat on the teak furniture as Bernadette leads the two inside.

Harry clears his throat after a minute or two passes by.

"I suppose an introduction is in order." I turned to face Harry from across my spot at the table as he decided to break the silence.

"But I already know who you are," I say confused.

"Well, without the help of Duke trying to assassinate you each time I see you." we both grinned. I shook my head with a small laugh, looking down at my lap before peering back up.

"I'm Harry." he stuck his hand out. I look down at the veined hand in front of me, admiring the details of his rings before accepting the shake.

"It's nice to officially meet you. I'm Daisy May."
