"Ara!" Jennie called out from downstairs.
Ara emerged from her room and descended the stairs. "Unnie?" she responded.
Jennie stood near the staircase, clutching her car keys. "I'm going to pick up Kia," she announced.
"But it's already late, and Taehyung isn't home yet. Can't you wait for him to come back?" Ara suggested.
"No, Ara. He's already landed. I'll be back soon, and if not, I'll call you. Take care," Jennie replied before heading out, leaving Ara alone in the house.
Closing the main door behind her, Ara returned to her bedroom, anxiously waiting for Taehyung to return. An hour passed with no sign of him.
When she heard footsteps, she opened the door and saw Taehyung ascended the stairs, Ara waited until he drew closer before speaking up. "Taehyung, dinner?" she asked, her voice trembling slightly.
"No, I ate at the office," he replied curtly, continuing toward his room.
Before he could enter, he turned back, handing her a file. "You can sign the divorce papers," he said, his tone heavy with resignation, and then disappeared into his room, closing the door behind him.
Ara stared at the file in her hands, tears welling up in her eyes as her heart sank. Summoning her courage, she walked into his room and found Taehyung lying on the couch. However, what she saw next took her by surprise – the walls were adorned with pictures of her and Taehyung, the room adorned as if celebrating a newlywed couple. "Happy wedding," she whispered, her tears streaming down her face.
"How dare you!!!" Ara's voice echoed through the room, her anger palpable.
Taehyung looked at her, his expression pained.
"You give me divorce papers and expect me to sign them?!" Ara exclaimed, thrusting the file toward him.
"Will you really let me go after everything? You forced me into marriage at gunpoint, and now you want me to sign divorce papers?" she demanded, her voice trembling with emotion.
Taehyung looked at her, his eyes filled with remorse. "I'm sorry, but—"
"What sorry? You need to pay for making me cry like this!" Ara interrupted, her voice breaking.
"Tell me what you want me to do," he said softly, his gaze fixed on the floor.
In a sudden burst of emotion, Ara grabbed his collar and pulled him into a kiss. Taehyung was taken aback by her unexpected action, but he stood still as she poured out her feelings.
Breaking the kiss, Ara looked into his eyes. "You have to be with me until the end of my life, without any complaints. That's your punishment for loving me unconditionally," she declared, her voice filled with determination, before leaning in to kiss him again, tears streaming down her cheeks.
Tears welled up in Taehyung's eyes as he pulled Ara close, his hands finding solace in the warmth of her embrace. Deepening the kiss, he allowed himself to be guided backward until he was seated on the couch, with Ara settling comfortably onto his lap.
Wrapping her arms around his neck, Ara gazed into his eyes, her own filled with remorse. "I'm sorry, I hated you without any reason. I hurt you without even knowing the truth... I'm really sorry," she confessed, tears still lingering in her eyes.
Taehyung gently caressed her face, his touch tender and reassuring. "It's alright. The most important thing is that you're back with me... What more could I ask for?" he reassured her, planting a soft kiss on her lips.
Ara leaned in, their foreheads touching as they shared a moment of understanding. "I love you," she whispered, a smile playing on her lips.
"I love you too, babygirl," Taehyung replied, pulling her closer and wrapping his arm around her waist.
