Taehyun finds himself panting as his legs bolts down the streets. He finds himself mindless and only focusing on when to turn right at the corners. He didn't bother to take a cab today, because he needed some time to think but only to fail endlessly.
Nevertheless, he came up with a decision. He knew he had to do it and it's been a day after the trip at Jeju and also a few days after his talk with Sunwoo.
He won't regret it.
Taehyun pushes the glass door open and into the elevator, the moment he reaches the floor he pressed its buttons earlier, he barges into the familiar door of his adoptive brother's office.
"Suga-hyung!!" Taehyun exclaims, out of breath.
Suga looks over the newspaper he had in his grip and then closes it, putting it neatly at the side.
"Taehyun-ah?" Suga calls out. "Are you okay? Did something happen??" He asks with a frantic tone.
Taehyun peers up and Suga notices the serious look on Taehyun's face.
"Can I talk to you?" Taehyun asks.
Suga blinks his eyes in confusion but then he nods. He gestures Taehyun to take the seat across his table.
"Did something go wrong with the operation? You just got back from Jeju yesterday, right?" Suga asks.
Taehyun nods. "I'm okay, but that's not why I'm here."
Suga raises an eyebrow, his eyes drift to Taehyun's fingers, finding them fidgeting, and the more he looks at it, the more be himself grows anxious of what Taehyun's going to tell him.
"Taehyun?" Suga calls out.
"Hyung-" Taehyun answers.
"I'm leaving the FBI."
Suga's eyes enlarge and his mouth falls agape.
"W-What do you mean?" Suga asks. "I swear to God Taehyun, if this is another prank-"
"I'm serious. I want to quit the FBI. Hyung, I want to be with Beomgyu. I can't keep up this facade. I hate lying to him. And I realized that throughout the trip at Jeju. Please-"
"Didn't you say you think Beomgyu wouldn't forgive you if you told him?" Suga asks, cutting Taehyun off.
Taehyun nods but smiles feebly. "It's okay. Even so, it was bound to happen. The earlier Beomgyu knows, the less hurt he would be. He's my boyfriend hyung, I love him. The longer I stay at the FBI, the more I feel guilty for lying to him-"
"Taehyun, please think this through-"
"Beomgyu doesn't deserve this hyung!!-" Taehyun raises his voice. "Even if we break up after this, it's okay. I don't deserve him."
"Wouldn't you be hurt?" Suga asks.
Taehyun blinks his eyes, containing the tears upon hearing his hyung's question.
"Beomgyu once told me that it'd be an honour to have his heart broken by a guy like me but-" Taehyun shakes his head. "He's wrong. It'd be an honour to have my heart broken by Choi Beomgyu."
Suga sighs as he eyes the frail state of his brother. He opens his mouth to say his words, only to find his voice shaky.
"I've taken care of you for years. I might not be you biological brother but I know where I stand. I won't force you to stay Taehyun, I respect your decisions."
Taehyun smiles and stands up from the chair, bowing respectfully at Suga. He then walks over to Suga and envelopes him into a tight hug in which Suga hugs him back, patting his back. Taehyun giggles as he feels the fabric of his clothes being soaked by the older's tears.
