Lilith's pov
After looking at myself in the mirror. I turn to Kadence. She gave me a smile. I lean over and peck her lips. Kadence wore a nice red dress. I wore black dress pants and a black dress shirt. The cuffs of the sleeves were red. 
"Come on we're going to be late," Kadence says. I nod my head before walking out of the room with Kadence. My cousins convinced the elder council to have a meeting regarding them stepping down. Kadence and I walked into the room. My cousins were already giving them their reasonings. 
"If you both step down, who rules the kingdom?" Elder Ezra asked. My cousins look at me. 
"The rightful heir," Talon says. He gave me a smile. I nod my head at him. 
"The rightful heir," Elder Ivory states. Kadence tightened her hand on mine when the elders looked at her. 
"And the human?" Elder Addams asked. I pulled Kadence with me as I stepped closer to them. 
"Will rule beside me," I say while glancing at Kadence. She gave me a smile. I give her a wink. Elder Zaros cleared his throat. I look back at him. 
"It has come to our attention of the downfall the twin kings have caused and it's in this kingdoms best interest the heir takes over the throne," Zaros says. I look at the twins who shrug their shoulders. A slight smirk on both of their faces. They did that shit on purpose. 
"It can't be that bad... Can it? Please tell me it isn't as bad as you made it seem," I say. The elders look at me. 
"Trying to back down already?" Elder Ezra asked. 
"Too late now, don't you think?" I asked. Zaros chuckles while standing. The others follow his lead. 
"On Friday you both will be crowned. Fix the little mistakes your cousins caused," Zaros says. I nod my head. The elders bow to me. I bow back at them. Zaros and a few others smile. "Take care kiddo," Zaros says while placing his hand on my shoulder. 
"I will, uncle Zaros," I say. Zaros wasn't really my uncle but he was around so often that he became family. Lucilla shot her head towards me. 
"It's elder Zaros to you," Lucilla states. I look at her. 
"Piss on a rock, you old hag," I say. Griffin, Kadence, and Talon's eyes widened. Lucilla chuckles while wrapping her arms around me. I hug her back before jabbing her in the rib. 
"I see you still have a mouth on you," Lucilla says. I laugh while nodding my head. 
"Of course. Someone had to piss off your daughter while you were away," I say. Lucilla was my mom's mother. 
"Seems to have worked, you drove her away," Lucilla says. I shrug my shoulders. 
"Her bitch ass left after I didn't take over," I say. The twins stare at me with wide eyes. The Elders had already left the room besides Zaros and my grandma. "Do you know what she did?" I asked. 
"No, we don't know. Is it the reason you didn't take over?" Lucilla asked. 
"Yeah. She wanted my dad to fight my beloved. She's clearly a human who doesn't know how to fight. Even if she knew how to fight I wasn't going to let her fight my father," I say. Lucilla and Zaros look at Kadence before looking at me. 
"Clearly," Kadence scoffed. I lick my lips and look at Kadence. She was shaking her head. 
"What I mean was. I had know idea this woman could fight. She won against my father and mom was not happy about that. Banned me from taking over," I lied. They all laugh causing me to smile.
