Lori Harvey as Victoria Browning^^^
-COMMERCIAL BREAK-
Hello and thank you for reading my book! It truly makes my day whenever I log into my wattpad account once in a while to see all the love this story receives many years after its original publication. To clarify a few things before you continue, I wrote this story when I was fifteen years old trying to assume the lifestyle and maturity of a grown twenty six year old woman. Some of the immature decisions/reactions my character makes is a reflection of an adolescent mindset. Looking back at some scenes now is pretty cringe worthy I will admit, however nonetheless it is still a story of mine I will hold dearly to my heart. I hope you too can appreciate the story being told as well and thank you again!
-END OF COMMERCIAL BREAK-
Mondays.
~Mondays can either be the start to a struggle week or a fresh reminder that this week will be different~
|Victoria's 3rd P.O.V|
Monday.
Beginning of the weekdays which of course means work. She hated them with a passion like everyone else. Her daily routine...
Bathe.
Dunkin Donuts.
Work.
Chill.
Work some more.
Rest. And it will start all over again on Tuesday til Saturday. That's when she would have her break. Being a journalist for the D.C. Times wasn't easy as many would think of it to be. It was a very demanding yet well paying job.
She was assigned a story for the week and publish it at the end of it. The same old, same old but she loved it.
Her co-worker/friend Paris rang her cell at exactly 7:25.
"Girl if you don't get your ass up in this office" Paris sassed her once she picked up.
Victoria laughed. "Paris you know I don't get there exactly at eight".
"But your shift starts at eight! You're lucky Ms.Dolores likes your ass". "Yes I know. And she loves you too Paris" Victoria could hear him smack his lips through the phone.
"I'll be there soon" She promised.
"Mmm smh...black people never on time".
Victoria faked gasp. "Bye Paris!". Then pressed end call. Paris was Victoria's only friend she had. It was him and her five year old niece Destiny who she adored so much.
Destiny's mother was another story....other known as Victoria's older sister Veronica Cooper who envied her from behind closed doors but all fake up to her face. Veronica always felt that a competition went between her and Victoria. She tried her best to be better than her in everything. School, friends, and wore insane amounts of make up to be prettier.
Veronica had made sure to marry and reproduce before Victoria. She was living the good life with her husband and daughter in the nation's capital. But she still see's her as a threat up to this day.
But that's another story and I'm no story teller....
Victoria rushed into her kitchen almost tripping over Destiny's bratz dolls scattered on the living room floor.
"Shit!" She muttered before limping her way to the fridge. She opened it up to see nothing but the basic necessities.
'I really need to go grocery shopping' She thought to herself.
Victoria rushed back inside her room and put on a New York&Company white blouse and black slacks with some two inch heels. Since she recently got her hair done all she had to do was take out the bobby pins and let her curls drop loose. Make-up wasn't really strict for Victoria either. Just some lipstick and mascara.
