"What took you so long?" Thomas stood near the exit of Med-Jack, leaning on his leg.

"In a rush to go inside the maze, already?" I teased.

Thomas rolled his eyes. Standing tall he moved closer, leaning forward a little. "Minhos in." He quietly said.
"He's bringing a few guys with him- They're waiting in the woods as we speak."

"Runners?" I asked the boy, making sure to keep my voice down.

"No." Thomas began walking away. "They all quit."

                                       𖨆𖨆𖨆

"It's about damn time shanks."

Minho stood infront of another opening to the maze, adjusting the leather on his hands. "Thought you got scared and bailed on us. Like the little klunks you guys are." He teased us.

I squatted down on my knee a few feet away, and began double knotting my shoe laces."I had to convince Newt; in letting me go back into the maze with Thomas- Didn't know you found the courage to go back in." I taunted.

"Ouch, I know that one hurt." Frypan snickered with Winston and Zart patted Minhos shoulder, trying his best not to laugh.

Minho scoffed. "Newt wouldn't let you go?" He said in more of a serious tone.

"Mhm. He said it was too dangerous and I had only just got back- To not die- You know? The usual." I mumbled, not really paying attention to the words coming out of my mouth. I finished tying my shoes and standing back up. "I'm here so-" I shrugged my shoulders.

Winston walked past Thomas and Zart, making his was over to Minho and gripped the asians shoulder. "Let's take a moment of silence to pray for Newt." He sarcastically said.

I raised my brow in confusion.

"He's got himself a handful." Winston chuckled, letting go of Minho and slowly walked towards the maze. Minho laughed and walked with Thomas after Winston.

Frypan clamped his hands together, closing his eyes. "May you never lose your patience no matter how much Lilah tests you." He prayed.

I walked over to the boy and smacked the back of his neck lightly. Frypan jumped up; surprised at the hit.

"Come on, Mittens." I jumped up into a run. Running past  the five boys, I shouted. "What are you guys waiting for?" I felt the cold air flowing against my warm skin. And in my long wavy hair. I felt good. Like I could do anything- I'm definitely not going to tests that theory out. But I felt good.

They all looked at each other, thinking the same thing; The maze changed her. The shy Lilah they once all knew became outgoing and determined as adrenaline filled her core.

                                          𖨆𖨆𖨆

I almost threw up, staring at the dead griever that was squashed in between two walls. It's gooey insides spilt out like slime. The smell made it ten times more appealing.

"How-" I paused. "lovely." I sarcastically said to the boys, as my nose scrunched up in disgust.

"That's disgusting." Zart replied.

"There's something in there." Thomas tilted his head closer to the dead griever.

"You mean besides a griever pancake?"

I took two steps closer and began searching the image for anything useful. Unfortunately it was too pushed up in the wall, meaning we would have to pull it out a little.

Unless someone blindly digs their hand into it.

And that lucky person was Minho. He reached one hand inside of the griever and we all inched forward.

Out of nowhere the grievers claw moved inwards, scaring the crap out of me. Minho sprung back and hit his back against Thomas's chest.

"I thought you said it was dead?" Frypan cried.

"Was it reflex?"

"You hope." Winston told Zart.

I moved towards it again. "Sometimes dead organisms move. Animals, humans-" I listed. "Like Zart said. It was a reflex" I confirmed.

"Thats convincing." Frypan uttered.

"Ok- Come on. Let's try to pull it out." Thomas gestured for us to help.

We all got a firm grip on the leg. I planted my feet in the ground, hoping I wouldn't slip due to all the guts on the floor.

"Alright, ready? On three. One. Two. Three-"

I gritted my teeth together, pulling as hard as possible. When the claw became loose I pulled even more, causing Frypan to slip from behind me.

"You okay?" I asked.

Thomas helped frypan up. "Yeah, I'm good."

Minho carefully walked over the leg and picked up something. It was hard to tell what it was at first, but when Minho pulled a sliver cylinder thing out, and a bunch of slime dripped onto the floor. I thought it was a bomb. The object ticked, trucking me.

Fortunately the silver object was not a bomb.

"What the hell is that?"

"Interesting." Was all Minho said.

"Okay. Whatever it is- Can we take this stuff back to the glade? Because I don't want to meet this guys friend."

I nodded in agreement. The sun would set soon, meaning the grievers will be out. And I'm not trying to encounter another live griever.

"He's right. It's getting late- Come on." Minho held onto the slimy object and we ran back to the glade. With our new finding.
