"you have a question," haechan insisted, giving her a look as he sat back in his seat. "ask it." he hummed, placing his hands in his lap and watching closely as subin tensed at his words.
how the hell was he able to read her like an open book if she sat on the cover to conceal the pages?
"i don't have a..." she trailed off when she realized the expectant brow raised, telling her he wasn't gonna believe whatever she was gonna say. "fine, whatever. i just wanted to know why you picked today of all random days to do this and why the hell you would spend that much money on someone you hardly know." she rolled her eyes, folding her arms over her chest.
haechan chuckled at her question, shrugging his shoulders. "i have a lot of money and not a lot of stuff to spend it on. and i just needed a reason to be out of the house." he explained, playing around with the straw of his cup.
"trouble in superstar paradise?" subin hummed in question, taking a spoonful of her ice cream. haechan rolled his eyes, groaning.
"you have no idea. the boys just don't know personal space and-"
"oh my god, subin?" someone cut haechans rant off, catching the pairs attention.subins eyes widened at the sight of the girl in front of her, her body tensing. "jing." she smiled awkwardly, shifting in her seat.
"wow, i haven't seen you in ages," jing hummed as she gave subin a once over, hand on her hip. "you look.... good. this your boyfriend?" she questioned, looking towards haechan who snorted at the question.
"oh no! this is haechan, he's uh, he's my best friends brother. he's in your brothers band, i'm surprised you don't recognize him." subin was quick to explain, tilting her head as she spoke the last part.
"i love my brother but i don't care enough to learn the faces of all the boys in that group," jing rolled her eyes. "nice to meet you, haechan." she smiled halfheartedly, sort of brushing off his presence as she turned back to face subin fully.
li jing was a very extravagant woman. the first daughter of the li family; the wealthiest family in aleigh. subin wasn't quite sure when she met jing, but it wasn't like they were close anyways.
jing was close with izumi, not subin. so close that sometimes subin had to question their friendship a few times while dating izumi. and nowadays, now that they weren't together, her and jing were closer than ever and had more dating scandals with each other than she could count on both hands.
"hey so i just um... i know this is awkward but seeing you in person sort of pushed me to actually be able to tell you this," she started off awkwardly which was weird because li jing was never awkward. "me and izumi are dating. and i know you probably don't care, but i wanted to make sure there wasn't bad blood between us for it when we make it public." she confessed, leaving a bad taste in subins mouth.
