Chapter 17

                                    

                                          
"Come in." Gisela called as she glanced through some paperwork as someone knocked on the door.
The door opened and Gisela looked up to see Rayni enter.
"Ah, Rayni...what do you have to tell me-?" Gisela began.
Gisela stopped herself as she noticed Tam following behind. She noticed how red and puffy Tam's eyes were and how he wouldn't hold eye contact with anyone.
"Tam's cover was blown. His sister found out, gave him a choice and he decided to stay with us." Rayni said, not looking at Gisela either.
Rayni glanced at Tam. Tam sniffled and still didn't look at anyone. Rayni frowned. Tam was bawling his eyes out when he light-leapt over here and when he made it to Rayni's room. She felt bad for the younger male.
"Give us a moment." Gisela said as she got up from her chair.
Rayni nodded at Gisela and she turned around. Rayni gave Tam a small pat on the back before she left the office. Rayni had shut the door behind her as she left Gisela's office.
"I'm sorry." Tam said, his voice quiet.
"I know I messed up."
Tam kept his gaze on the ground. It was silent, the only thing Tam heard was Gisela's heels clicking as she made her way over to him. Tam was ready to accept any sort of punishment she would give him.
To Tam's surprised, Gisela's hands cupped his face and gently forced him to look up at her. Tam didn't recognise the emotion in her eye, but Gisela wasn't angry, she wasn't pissed off at all.
"You are home now." Gisela said in a soft tone of voice.
Gisela gently caressed Tam's cheeks and Tam blinked.
"I'm- you're not...going to... punish me?" Tam questioned.
Gisela smiled at Tam.
"No. No, of course not. You have been betrayed by someone you love. Right now you need rest. And thankfully there is a room that is already ready. Rayni can take you there and you can rest." Gisela said, taking her hands away from Tam. 
"As long as my son's cover is not blown, you're fine."
Tam hummed quietly. 
"Uhm... thank you, Lady Gisela." Tam said, nodding at Gisela. 
"Of course. Go on out and bring Rayni in, would you?" Gisela smiled at Tam. 
Tam nodded again and he backed away towards the exit of the office. 
Well, Tam definitely did not expect Gisela to act... kind to him, but it was better than getting a cruel punishment, so hey! He wasn't going to complain.
