Music blasted from the truck as it was driven down the empty highway -- some of the people inside it had been weary that the music would attract walkers but they had decided to just go for it anyway. The aim of the run was to try and find some parts to repair Alexandria's solar panels.

The abandoned building they eventually got to was infested at the front part of it so they decided to just go around the back. The easier option was often the right one. Glenn Rhee banged on the door to check that there were no walkers before they started searching the building.

"I have no idea what these things are supposed to look like."

"Grab anything that looks sciency and check with Eugene."

"There's a walker." Tara alerted the others. "It's got armour on."

"I got it." Aiden declared as he began to fire shots at the walker but the bullets didn't get past the protective gear. Glenn yelled for him to stop but the words were miscommunicated. A flash and a bang rang out, a grenade on the armour had gone off and blew up due to the bullets that flew its way.

Katy was blasted back along with the others, blood ran down the girls face after she hit it on the wall but it wasn't too big a deal. Glenn helped her up quickly and held out his torch, they gasped as they saw Aiden pinned against the wall and held there by a spike through his stomach.

"Oh shit!"

Everybody regrouped, huddling in an office which seemed to be the safest part of the building. Tara had been knocked out during the explosion and Eugene was hurt too. Nicholas ran in wide-eyed.

"Aiden's dead."

"No, he isn't." They couldn't believe the mans lie. "We need to help him."

Glenn, Katy and Noah made their way to the unfortunate man and tried to tell him that they would help -- none of them had that much faith. Aiden was clearly terrified.

"Aiden, can you stay quiet." Katy planted a false smile on her face and took hold of his hand as Glenn and Nicholas tried to pull him away from the spike. "Squeeze as tight as you need."

There was a lack of options in the situation, Aiden screamed wildly. Katy cringed at the thought of the amount of pain he must have been in. His shouts meant they had to stop trying to free him because walkers were attracted to the sound and began to come towards them.

"They're here!" Noah shouted about the walkers.

Nicholas had already run away like a coward. Glenn grabbed Katy and pulled her away from the man as he ran with Noah. The walkers feasted on Aiden's trapped body and the sight made the others want to be sick. They wished they had killed him instead of trying to free him, it would have been less painful.

They needed to escape. Getting to the revolving doors at the front of the building, they ran into opposite sides. Nicholas in one and Glenn, Katy and Noah in the other. They had trapped themselves in the mass of walkers. Neither side could go out their door without pushing the others into certain death.

"We're gonna die in here!" Nicholas panicked.

"There has to be a way."

Outside, Eugene had an idea and decided to play the loud music and drive past the revolving doors, making about half of the walkers move away. The others were filled with hope and pride for Eugene.

"Nicholas, keep the glass steady. I'm gonna break it!" Glenn shouted before hitting the glass with his rifle and making it shake unsafely.

"Stop! It's not safe." Nicholas objected.

The plan was the only way for them all to get out so they tried to keep him calm and to carry on with the plan. However, Nicholas always concerned for his own safety over everybody else's began to push his door so that he could escape, this exposed the others to the hungry creatures.

"What the fuck are you doing?" Katy screamed as her and the two men pushed themselves back against the glass in fear.

Noah was in the line of the door, his leg was grabbed by a walker and he slipped down to the floor. Glenn and Katy grabbed one of his hands each but they weren't strong enough to hold him against all of the walkers. Nicholas wouldn't stop opening his door and ran off as soon as possible leaving Katy and Glenn basically sitting on top of each other as they held onto Noah.

"Don't let go." Noah begged.

They tried to keep him safe but he was pulled into the large mass of walkers and the door closed harshly. The walkers forgot Glenn and Katy because they had their meal. They both screamed and dived towards the door but they were helpless. They flinched as Noah's body was thrown up against the glass and squashed against it, his eyes widening as walkers bit into his flesh.

Glenn wrapped his arms around Katy and pulled her into his chest as they both began to cry, letting loud sobs escape their mouths but neither of them could tear their gaze away as their friend was ripped to pieces. It was a horrifying thing to watch -- one of the worst things imaginable.

Their faces were red and puffy when they finally escaped. Walking towards the van with their arms around each other they breathed heavily and noticed that Nicholas was still trying to make his own escape and leave us. Glenn attacked the man rightfully, nobody did anything to try and stop the punches.

"Where's Noah?"

"He's gone."

On the way back to Alexandria no music was played. Everybody was tense and the atmosphere was awful. For Glenn and Katy, the death was replaying in their mind. The journey seemed to take forever but as soon as the van stopped Katy jumped out and ignored everybody in the community. She wanted to find one person -- her person.

"Daryl."

Her voice was weak and Daryl knew that something had happened. He could tell it was all wrong. She threw her arms around his neck and he held her tightly as she began to cry again. She hadn't really known Noah but she could have seen her worst enemy die that closely and it would have affected her; she knew that Beth had died partly to protect Noah and maybe that was what broke her heart too. She had died for nothing.

"What happened?" Daryl pulled the girl onto his lap as they sank onto the floor together. She explained the situation to him with heavy breaths and headaches. She could see it all replay. He had seen more people die than she had, he had a harder shell on his emotions but even he could tell how horrid it had been and he hated that she had seen it.

"It was the worst thing I've ever seen."
