Avery woke up with Robin's butt in her face but she turned around and immediately checked her phone when she woke up, quickly typing a response to the blonde's text when she was sleeping. Her lips already had the biggest smile when she had gone down to the kitchen where Robin followed her. She grabbed some bread and made a quick sandwich before getting on the couch with Maddie while she played with a few toys with Warren.
Her orange cat settled down next to Maddie as she immediately pet her and ran the little toy horse around on Robin's fur.
“You seem to be in a good mood.” Warren said to his daughter who chuckled as she chewed her food.
“What? I can't have a good day?” Avery joked to her dad.
“No, I'm just saying you seem to be in a really really good mood, which is rare.” Her dad responded with a sheepish smile on his face.
Avery rolled her eyes before Warren spoke again.
“Mind telling your old man?” He asked.
The brunette then thought for a second, telling him wouldn't be that bad right? But is Taylor okay with it? Avery asked herself but she thought that it was better to give another reason while she was smiling foolishly. 
“Oh just- nothing, the weather is nice.”
Wow, the weather of course. Avery said to herself while his dad could definitely see that she was lying from Warren's laugh.
“Weather huh? Is the weather in New York quite different from here?” Warren asked again, definitely knowing something could be the reason but he likes to tease his daughter more.
“I mean, yeah. I think so…but it's good to be back.” Avery said before taking a bite to the sandwich she was holding as she returned her gaze to Maddie.
“The last time you were here is where you and Pierre went to that Taylor Swift 1988…something concert, right?” Warren thinks as he tried to name that one Taylor Swift concert that Pierre kidnapped her daughter for and passed out on the couch from tiredness.
“1989 Dad.” Avery corrected her dad as she laughed.
“Yeah that! Maddie keeps ordering your mum to play her music in the car the moment she is driven here…she seems to be a fan.” Warren said before looking at the kid besides him, playing and minding her own business with her things.
“Probably.” Avery said, smirking as she hid her face by taking another bite and chewing innocently.
Warren didn't ask anymore questions about her daughter's obviously exaggerated smile when she sat next to him on the couch and went to the hospital to help Cora out with Jonathan and get him home. Avery was left alone with Maddie again as she tried her best to entertain the kid by letting her pick whatever she wanted to watch on her phone.
When Maddie was finally distracted, she stood up and picked up the scattered toys around the living room and put it in the corner with her niece’s other things and bags. Robin followed her around like a tail when she sat next to Maddie again. The orange fluff ball then sat on Avery's lap.
She pulled out her phone and decided to call Taylor up to see what she's up to. The singer didn't answer but Avery thought she probably slept early because of her flight to New York tomorrow.
