Chapter 12
Frank, Hayley, Ray, and I were standing right in front of the Goblet of Fire, which was exactly what it sounded like. It was just a large goblet filled with blue flames. Hogwarts wasn't really known for being creative with their names.
"Ray, are you entering into the Tournament?" I asked.
Ray shook his head. "I don't know about you, but I'd rather not get killed."
"I'm not going to get killed! I'm not even going to get picked!" I exclaimed.
"I wouldn't be so sure," Ray stated. "Professor McGonagall said that we shouldn't take this lightly. The tournament is really dangerous."
Hayley shrugged. "Danger's my middle name," she said as she stepped towards the goblet.
"Actually, your middle name is Nichole," I said.
"Stop being such a killjoy, Gerard!" Hayley exclaimed.
I grinned. "I'm a fabulous killjoy, and you know it."
Hayley rolled her eyes, stepped over the age line, and tossed the slip of paper with her name on it into the Goblet of Fire. Frank then entered his name. After his name was in the Goblet of Fire, Frank said, "Your turn, Gee."
I took out a slip of paper and scribbled "Gerard Way - Hogwarts" onto it. I was about to put it into the goblet when I saw Brendon Urie entering the room.
"Brendon?" I said. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm entering in the Triwizard Tournament!" he exclaimed.
"You're only fourteen," I said. "You have to be seventeen to enter the Triwizard Tournament."
"Oh really?" Brendon said as he started running for the Goblet of Fire. "WATCH THIS!" Brendon jumped into the air and tried to do a backflip over the Age Line. However, he crashed into an invisible wall halfway through the backflip and fell to the floor.
"Are you okay?" Frank asked.
Brendon nodded. "I'm fine," he said. "Dallon! Spencer! Ryan! Time for Plan B!"
Dallon, Spencer, and Ryan brought in a cauldron filled with Ageing Potion. Ryan Ross was another one of Brendon's many friends.
"That's not going to work," Ray told Brendon.
"Oh yes it will!" Brendon said.
"How could it not work?" Dallon asked.
Brendon took a sip of the Ageing Potion, and then stepped over the age line. "See? It works," he said. Brendon reached to put his name in the Goblet of Fire, but he was suddenly ejected back over the line and he sprouted a long, white beard.
"SERIOUSLY?!?" Brendon screamed. "I thought that would work!"
"The Hospital Wing should be able to fix that," Hayley told Brendon.
"In the meantime, I'll take some Ageing Potion to make you feel better," I said. "We can be old together!" I took a big gulp of Ageing Potion, but nothing happened.
"I don't think it worked," Dallon said. "You look exactly the same."
"I don't know," Ryan said. "Maybe you're just not going to age when you get older?"
"That would be cool," I said.
"Come on!" Brendon shouted. "Gerard gets eternal youth, and I don't?"
"You wouldn't have the beard if you didn't try to cross the age line, Brendon," I reminded him. I then stepped over the age line. Brendon tried to follow me, but he was blocked yet again. I tossed my name into the Goblet of Fire and left the room. Hayley, Frank, and Ray followed me back to the Gryffindor Common Room.
"Password?" the Fat Lady asked.
"Bulletproof Heart," I said.
"That's not the right password," the Fat Lady said.
"Oh right," Frank said. "It was changed to Sweet Revenge."
The portrait opened up, and the four of us entered the common room. "The Fat Lady's passwords are just getting weirder and weirder," I said.
"I don't know. I think 'Sweet Revenge' is a cool password. Three cheers for Sweet Revenge!" Frank said.
Ray, Frank, Hayley, and I sat down in the common room. "I can't wait for the Tournament to start," Ray said. "It's going to be fun to watch."
"I can't wait to find out who's going to be champion!" Hayley exclaimed.
"I'm glad we don't have to wait long," I said. "They're choosing the champions tomorrow."
"Still, we have to wait all day before we know if we made it," Hayley said. "I just want to know if I'm going to be champion or not!"
"Me too," Frank said.
"We'll all know soon enough," I stated.
Frank and Hayley were right though. The next day couldn't go by fast enough. It was hard to focus in Transfiguration, even with Professor Lester, when all I could think about was the tournament. As usual, I wasn't okay, and I wouldn't be until the champions were announced.
