A/n: I haven't done many Tara chapters, so I was sitting here watching tiktok and this mma fight came on and I got inspired. Just covering my ass tho, I know nothing about mma so if I say the wrong thing don't judge me. This is set after scream 6 btw.
Tara and Sam sat in the living room of their new place in Florida. Sam had asked Danny to move with them, as just being he had proven himself in New York. Tara had decided to start taking self defense classes but the instructor had clearly not been chased by two homicidal maniacs, and while Tara had, twice now, the only thing she had to defend herself but a can of pepper spray.
As she was about to leave the gym, the instructor called everyone's attention to the octagon that sat in the middle of the gym. He was about to challenge this guy who at first didn't look like much, but once the fight began he evade the instructor like a pro. She has seen the guy in the gym when she went to sign up for the class, she would see him lifting weights and punching the punching bag. She later found out his name was Y/n
The fight starts with the instructor throwing a punch that Y/n dodged, and then another, and another until Y/n punched him in the jaw, knocking his opponent off his feet.
This altercation started when Y/n saw the instructor doing some very inappropriate things with his students. He then walked over.
"Hey man, you seriously going to do that? These people are paying you to teach them self defense, not grope them." Y/n said as the instructor turned to look at him.
"And so what, I can do what I want, this is my gym" said the instructor.
They started pushing eachother. Both getting more and more aggressive.
"You wanna go, come on then let's go" the instructor said as both men entered the octagon.
"Ladies and gentlemen please come watch as I beat this dumbass into the ground." That was about 2 minutes ago, now he was struggling to get off the mat.
Y/n walked towards him as his friends walked in and got him up.
"It's not your gym, it's my gym" Y/n said as he pointed to a picture of him and the rest of the staff.
The staff then threw the instructor/con artist and his friends out and gave them a life long ban. The patrons applauded and cheered as Y/n reentered the gym. Tara walked up to him as she looked out the glass door and watched the creeps walk away with their equally injured pride and bodies.
"That guy's a creep" she said as Y/n approached, he smiled and nodded.
"Yeah that's why I wasn't opposed to kicking his ass." He said making her chuckle.
"Tara." She said extending her hand.
"Y/n." He said shaking her hand.
"So do you teach or just work out?"
"Never thought about teaching, don't know that if be any good at it"
"You'd be better than that guy"
He smiled and he decided to start teaching his own self defense class with Tara being his first and best pupil.
Over the next month she would turn up at his classes and work diligently. 
"Ok what's next coach?" She said as she placed her bags on the floor.
"Next you fight me, time to see if you learned anything" he said 
"Oh come on, I wouldn't want to hurt that handsome face of yours" 
"Oh so you think I'm handsome?" He said as they both got into a fighting stance.
The fight began with Tara throwing a punch that Y/n narrowly dodged. They continued their vicious dance until Y/n grabbed Tara and flipped her over his shoulder and onto the mat.  The fight ended with Y/n on top of Tara. He stared into her eyes, and she into his. He got up and extended a hand to help her up. She took it and sprang to her feet.
"Wait" she said as he began to walk off
He stopped, and looked at her.
"Why did you stop?" she asked.
"Because, I didn't want to do anything inappropriate, not after I threw that guy out for being a creep. I was about to kiss you without asking." He said looking down at the ground.
She then moved to stand in front of him and moved his.head to make him look at her.
"Is that what you're worried about?" She asked earning a nod from the taller man.
She smiled and pulled him into a kiss. He stood there for a moment but then returned the kiss. She ended up wrapping her arms around his neck, and he around her waist. She deepend the kiss their tongues now fight for dominance. 
The need for air became apparent as they broke apart, panting heavily. She looked at him and smiled, giving him a small peck on the lips.
"Does that quell your worries?" She asked receiving yet another nod. She then smiled at him.
"Ya know for the past few years, I haven't been able to find something that made me happy. I thought that would have been Chad for a while, but then he cheated on me" Y/n remembered the time she told him about her childhood and what happened in woodsboro and New York. Also how her ex boyfriends cheated on her the day before she moved down to Florida.
"But I think I found that with you" she said as you smiled and kissed her again.
