Cass was in her element, the que of fans waiting to meet her. Ran hadn't seen her like this in years. Naturally smiling and chatting away to anyone In front of her.

Ran stood back and let her do her thing. She had earned this moment, writing her next novel in under a month. She said it just flowed naturally from her and she couldn't stop. Waking ran up in the middle of the night with the sound of her keyboard clicking away.

Hours had gone by and finally, she was signing her final book. Cass opened the book to the page she had been signing over 100 times today. "Who am I making it to?" She asked picking up a fresh pen.

"Your number one fan" the man In front of her spoke. The voice sounded so familiar but she hadn't heard it in so long. She looked up from the book to a familiar smiling face.  "Jensen" she whispered.

"Hey Cass, I missed you" He smiled, She couldn't help but look behind him to Ransom. Cass prayed he wouldn't make a scene instead, he winked at her and walked away. "Why didn't you call?" She asked trying not to cry in front of everyone. Jensen sighed looking at the floor "And why did you lie to me?" Jensen instantly looked at her shocked, Jared was sworn to secrecy. He didn't tell anyone else about his plan, hell he didn't even have a plan anymore. "Ran told me and that you've been meeting him on play dates to see Chloe" she explained with a soft smile.

"I had to protect you and Chloe, I knew you were safer with Harlen. Just wasn't expecting you to relight your romance with Ran" Jensen spoke, a hint of sadness in his voice. He thought he was doing the right thing to protect her, not pushing her away completely. This had well and truly backfired on him but Ran was closer to ending this for good then he ever was. Jensen couldn't help but look at her left hand that held the book open as she wrote on the main page. The engagement ring he bought her no longer sitting on her ring finger.

Cass closed the book and handed it to him "I just wish you'd have talked to me and not pulled off this mission impossible bullshit" She said as she walked away from him in the same direction Ran did moments ago. Jensen sighed knowing that she was right, of course she was. He opened the book to the first page reading the words she had written.

To Jensen,

Thank you for everything.

Cass

It was short and sweet but it made him smile.

Back at the house, Ran popped open a bottle of champagne "Time to celebrate!" He announced sitting next to her on the sofa. She held out her glass as she watched the cool liquid fill her glass and then ransom's glass. "To my amazing fiancée and her latest best seller" he proposed a toast until he realised what he had said. They were just ex lovers who were co parenting a child together. Since living in the same house again they hadn't shared a kiss or had sex. "You'd still want to marry me? After everything that I did to you?" Cass questioned, stunned at his words. It had to be a Freudian slip, right? He couldn't possibly mean it.

After all the anger and tears shed, how could he even love her? But he still did. She made him happy and most importantly pissed his family off. Ransom didn't want anyone else, Cass was the one and only for him.

"Come to bed and ill answer that question"
