Yeji's POV
I'm having late lunch with Jieun today. Jake told me that he needs extra practice before his match tomorrow. I thought their match would be held at a different time. Turns out, both his and Sohee's match are at almost the same time.
"has she told you about the fight? She's hoping you'd come." Jieun brought it up. "me and Ryujin will be there as well."
"Jake was asking me the same thing. I mean, I can't split myself and be there at the same time." I told her honestly.
"I can understand." Jieun looks down.
"I really wanna support her. but, I promised Jake that ill be there as well. I feel like a jerk now. I didn't even know the schedules." I let out a sigh. "what should I do?"
"it's your right to watch whoever you want." Jieun just shrugs. "if you made a promise, don't brake it."
"right. But, I'll feel bad for not coming to Sohee's match as well."

I've made my decision. I didn't promise Sohee anything. I just said that I'll try to make it in time. I didn't tell her about Jake's match, though. Julia said I'm being a jerk for that.
We're already sitting at the bleacher of the court. We're a bit late because right now, the team is showing us their warm ups.
"are you sure they'll be okay?" Julia made sure and asked me. "try to text Ryujin."
"I don't think she'll reply. The match is probably already on." That's just my excuse. I don't wanna make them mad.
"whatever you say. I just think that you need to clarify." Julia advised. "though I also think that Ryujin won't mind."
"that's exactly what I'm thinking. Every time I thought I made a mistake, she doesn't seem to care. That what scares me." I turned to face her fully, stating my frustration.
"maybe, she's just like that. Calm down." Julia patted my thigh a few times. "she's not like Sohee, remember?"
"but still. We don't know what she's thinking about behind those charming sweet smile." I faced the court again, noticing that the game is on. "probably planning a revenge or something."

Ryujin's POV
Sohee is up for her second match, yet, I haven't heard anything from Yeji. I bounce my leg rapidly, still clutching to my phone, waiting for her call.
"I told you, she might not make it." Jieun looked at me.
"still hoping, though. I heard the basketball match is also today. Could she be there?" I wondered. "well, if she is, she could've told me."
"she would." Jieun leans back, as if she knows something. "is she gonna be okay? took a few hard hits earlier."
"she can handle that." though my eyes are looking at Sohee, my head is still thinking about Yeji. "Changbin is good, don't you think?"
"he is." Jieun glanced at me. "just enjoy the match. She'll contact you, I'm sure."
"did she say something to you?" I asked out of suspicions. "c'mon, you can't lie to me."
"what if she did come to Jake's game? What would you do?" Jieun faced me.
I look down for a bit. I don't wanna be possessive over her, but if she continues to do these types of shits, I'd hit my limit. Yet again, she's not my girlfriend. She's allowed to hang out with anyone. At least, she has to tell me instead of trying to hide things from me.
"well, I think I need to have that talk with her."
"what talk?" Jieun raised her eyebrow.
"about what we have. I mean, what are we? Because clearly we're past that friendship phase." I stated.
"you haven't made it clear to her either. You can't complain about it." Jieun responded sternly. "and I can see that she's confused with her feelings."
"you were in it." I scoffed. "all I can do is wait."
"I'm not even an option at this point. Both you and Sohee needs to sort things out. you don't even know about her progress with Sohee." Jieun sighs, placing her hand on my knee. "we'll talk about this later, okay? look, your sister is up."

After the match, the three of us are hanging out at a nearby restaurant. At this point, I'm wondering how Sohee doesn't eat that much after that. if I were her, I'd order all the menu.
"so, she didn't show up?" Sohee asked.
"nope." I replied, checking my phone. "did she text you?"
"I don't know. left my phone in the car." Sohee said, still eating a piece of her chicken. "oh, she told me about Jake's game. She promised him to come. I told her it's okay."
"she told you?" my eyebrows furrowed. I quickly go to my phone and press on Yeji's contact to give her a call. I clear my throat before realizing that Yeji already picked it up. "hi! haven't seen you this morning."
Sohee and Jieun are looking at me. they know how I usually handle something like this. they said it's fake.
"I'm really sorry, Ryujin."
"sorry? what for?" I acted like I don't know. "oh, do you wanna come by this restaurant I'm at? We can have some brunch." I offered.
"I'm actually with Julia right now. And I'm sorry I couldn't come to Sohee's match."
"it's all good. No need to apologize. I just hope you don't say you woke up late as an excuse." I lightly laughed. "so, should I send you my location or..."
"no, I was actually watching Jake's game. I'm sorry I didn't tell you."
"right! I know about his game. Since you're so close with him now, I don't mind." well, it stings a little. I need to know her reason still. "how about I'll come visit you instead?"
"you're not mad at me, aren't you?"
"meh, it happened. What can I do?" I stifled. "I'll see you later, pup-cup." I hang up after she responded.
"you did not just call her that." Jieun reacted to my nickname.
"that's so lame, sis." Sohee too.
"what? she's just so cute! I can't get mad at her when she used that tone on me." I clarified. Every time she said sorry or feel guilty about something, she just has that tone that wants me to be soft on her. "you didn't even get soft at that. cold bitch." I looked at Sohee while scoffing.
"that was the old me, dickhead." Sohee stifles. "we'll drop you off at her dorm, by the way. I need a whole lot of nap."
