HANDING him a box of the sample pastries at the door, Marinette waves Adrien goodbye.

"Thanks for the invite. Tell your mom that, too," he says to her with a smile. "Like always, I had fun," he then adds.

Marinette's previously small grin grows wider at his addition.

"I'm glad you did," she peeps, rooted in her place with her hands behind her back.

With a final exchange of 'bye', Adrien exits the Dupain-Cheng household with a bagged box of baked goods, about to head downstairs when he hears the door open behind him.

"Looks like you almost forgot your hat," the girl holds up said item with a knowing look.

The blond chuckles sheepishly, reversing towards her to collect his cap.

Unexpectedly, Marinette is the one to reach up and place it on his head, beaming adorably at him. He can feel his cheeks sear at this. Adrien keeps his head down to hopefully let his pink cheeks go unnoticed.

"Thanks," he blurts, gradually stepping away once more. "I'll text you when I get back!" he abruptly continues as he bounds down the stairs, now unable to hold the grin that spread on his face.

Absolutely adorable.

Meanwhile, the girl back upstairs found herself smiling unconsciously the entire time she was cleaning up the remainding plates and pastries on the table; the plates and pastries that Adrien had insisted to help her with.

"Let me help," he had said after they tasted all the samples.

At an instant, Marinette shot out of her seat, reaching for the same plate he was swiftly so he couldn't get it.

"No can do sir," she wagged her free pointer finger at Adrien, collecting the other plate before he could react. "You're my guest, I'm not making you do any work!"

"Hey, can't you give me an exception?" he retorted, folding his arms in dissatisfaction. "It's enough that you baked all this."

With a chuckle as she placed the plates into the sink, Marinette shook her head. "So? I invited you over. You're not required to do anything," she told him.

She turned around, and a pouting Adrien came
into view. She laughed at his expression. "I never thought I'd see someone insist to do work," she remarked with an amused look etched on her face.

Adrien shrugged. "Let me be the first then," he said. He then took a royal bow, which made her laugh.

"You are certainly something, Adrien Agresté," Marinette muttered under her breath.

He didn't catch this. Instead, he tried to lift the tray of uneatan pastries. Immediately, she rushed towards him and gently pushed him away by the arms.

"No," she told him firmly with a finger in front of his face.

"Marinette! Has Adrien gone home?" Sabine called from downstairs, pulling her out of her flashback.
