Chapter 3

                                    

                                          
   The loud noises and screaming in the halls stopped the math teacher mid sentence as he turned to the door. The next thing I new Wesley burst into the room and ran up to me grabbing my hand. "We need to go NOW!" He said dragging me from my seat. Wesley turns around motioning to Chase to help him get me out of the room. Chase gets up and walks over, Shae quietly follows behind him. Before I knew it I was being dragged out of the class room with both Wesley and Chase attached to both my arms, Shae following behind with Jax, Rosanna and Tucker. Chaos whirled around us as people were screaming and running through the halls for who knows why. I was suddenly jerked to the side as all 7 of us crowded into the janitors closet. I spun around, yanking my hand from Wesley's grip. "What the HELL is going on!?" I demanded with the most bitchy tone I could muster. Wesley ran a hand through his hair, which he only did when something really bad happened or if he's nervous, which made me automatically become nervous as well. "This is gonna sound extremely fucking crazy..but a kid in English started getting sick and all of a sudden attacked the teacher" He paused taking a deep breath. "The kid winded up ripping the teachers throat out and killed her, but a minute later she was standing and as pale as ever, everyone ran out of the classroom and she followed with the kid" He finished with a huge dragged out sigh. My dark green eyes widened as I understood. I instantly remembered the show The Walking Dead. "Fuck..so what your telling us is that a zombie out break just erupted in our school?" Shae asked from behind me and under Jax's protective arm. Wesley, Rosanna, and Tucker being in the same class when it happened, nodded in response. I finally spoke up "Then we need to get out of here as soon as possible and get to W.W" I said to the group, my experience from every zombie movie I've seen kicking in. W.W is our safe zone that we have in the middle of the woods. We randomly came across the abandoned house while Chase and I were wondering around. We immediately made it the groups home and we hung out there ever since. The group nodded in response when Tucker spoke up for the first time, "Well what are we waiting for?" I shrugged my shoulders but I immediately stiffened realizing that in the moment of tge conversation, Chase and I forgot about his hand still resting on my shoulder from when I was being dragged by him and Wesley. My face turned a faint shade of red as I reached up and grabbed Chase's hand, taking it off my shoulder. Chase's eyes widened as he realized his hand too and quickly looked away, causing me to smile and the rest of the group to snicker.
                          
 The 7 of us crept through the halls, trying not to make much noise. If there's a couple things I know about the dead, it's that they're attracted to noise and their eye sight isn't to good. If you don't make much noise you don't have a problem unless they smell you. 
                          
We all got to the staircase leading to the first floor and quietly descended it but it wasn't that easy apparently because right out of no where a kid that I recognized as Liu Adams from History came into view. His skin was completely pale and his eyes were blood shot. Blood and what looked like human flesh hung from his face. We all heard Shae scream in fear once she saw him. Liu immediately whipped around and shuffled towards us, faster than I expected. This cannot turn out to be some World War Z shit. Nobody moved, everyone unsure of what to do until I couldn't take it anymore. I looked around and saw part of the door rim being torn off, the nails still sticking out of it. I walked over and ripped it out of the wall with strength I didn't know I had. I turned on my heels and walked up to Liu, meeting him half way to us. Surprising everyone of the 6 people behind me, I raised the board up to my head and hesitating, smashed it down onto my former classmates head. The impact sent him flying backwards but did no harm as he started to get back up. Quickly without thinking I walked up and slammed my booted foot through its skull, almost barfing as the decayed brain it still had exploded and blood went everywhere. 
                          
I shook off my foot and turned around to the others, all staring at me wide eyed with shock. I hesitated before shrugging my shoulders like it was nothing. "We should get going" I say to break the silence. Chase walks up and stands next to me, looking down at Liu and then looking back at me. I caught his eye looking me up and down. "Damn Autumn..your bad ass!" He said cracking a smile. I sighed in relief and walked with the rest of the group to get the hell out of the school.
