"Chance is the one thing you can't get for free. You have to pay for it with your life..."

Seonghwa POV:
The journey to San's apartment was something I found myself slowly learning to accept. The storm was still raging outside as we made our way to the destination, a mirror of my innermost feelings regarding the never-ending battles I've continued to fight. However, there was something about having a new safe place to lay my head. Even though I would rather not have to depend on someone to provide shelter for me again, it felt somewhat comforting to at least have some sort of stability in my life. With the new agreement of exchanging shelter for food, this could be something that would work out in the long run for me.
"...So...do you want to explain to me why your shirt has a huge coffee stain on it?" San asked quietly.
I sighed. "Just an asshole of a customer finding an excuse to throw a drink at me, that's all."
"Seonghwa, you're saying that as if it was deserved. What the hell even happened?"
"I made the drink as he requested, but he figured that I did it wrong. So, he threw the drink at me."
He sighed, shaking his head in disbelief as distasteful mutter escaped his lips. "You're better than me, I would've lost my shit..."
A humorous chuckle at the thought brought a smile on my face. "That's why I work my job and you work yours. Hospitality isn't quite your strong suit, if I'm being honest."
"Yeah, well I guess that's true. Either way, you shouldn't just let stuff like that happen to you."
I sighed, focusing my attention on the water droplets harshly patting against the window. "It's fine. It's not like I'm dead or anything, and Mrs. Kim gave me a paid day off because of it..."
"Well, look at the brighter side then," San smiled, "that just means you have the day to settle yourself into your space, which by the way, I think you're going to love..."
"Should I be worried?"
San smirked. "Not at all."

The car entered into a gated community filled with multiple three-story buildings scattered across in various areas. Expectedly enough, our building happened to be the closest to the gate, marked with a simple '1' number to mark being the first structure of the compound. The storm had finally calmed down enough to a barely a drizzle, so it was easy to step out and make our way inside.
