I so yearn to hug you tightly,
I long to kiss and caress you lightly,
And nightly my dreams star only you,
I pray daily for them to come true,
I fear you are an obsession for me,
But after decades so lonely,
Maybe you could forgive my transgression,
Believe it I've learned my lesson,
How could a man take an angel for granted?
How could my view on love have been so slanted?
I blame it on youthful naivety,
Now let me show you devotion faithfully,
For I will never love another, regardless if you do,
I've come to terms with possible future blue,
But I truly believe there's hope for us to reconnect,
Until then let these words work their desired effect,
"I'll love you forever"
