CHAPTER 18- HEALING THE POISON

Start from the beginning

Just as he was contemplating using his powers to heal her, a knock sounded at the door, interrupting his train of thought. Lucien paused and made his way to answer the unexpected visitor.

Opening the door, he found Devyn standing before him, holding a black bottle in her hands.

"This is the antidote for the poison" she explained. "I'm not certain if it will be effective if the poison has already spread too far."

Lucien stared at her, then at the bottle, before reluctantly accepting it.

"You better hope it works" he said icily, causing Devyn to swallow nervously.

"Give her one dro..." she began, but her words were abruptly cut off as Lucien slammed the door in her face.

"How is she?" Alice hurriedly inquired as she appeared alongside Chevy.

"I can't say" Devyn replied with a dejected expression.

"I thought you could see the future" she snapped.

"I can only see what is allowed to be seen" Devyn shot back.

"I'm sure she'll be okay" Chevy interjected, attempting to offer reassurance.

"I hope so" Alice mumbled, casting a glare in her direction.

★BACK TO LUCIEN'S ROOM★

"There is no way I am taking that" Reva said defiantly as Lucien approached her, a determined look on his face.

"Yes, you will, even if I have to force you" he replied firmly, taking a seat beside her.

"I wo..." Reva's words trailed off as another wave of pain surged through her body, causing her to wince and spill another set of blood.

Lucien shook his head in frustration and swiftly wiped away the stains of blood from her lips.

"Open your mouth!" he instructed, his tone leaving no room for argument.

"Didn't you hear what I just said?" Reva glared at him.

"If you resist one more time, I will do it with a kiss" Lucien warned, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

Reva saw the determined and somewhat menacing look in his gaze and realized he wasn't joking. Slowly, with great difficulty, she reluctantly opened her mouth.

Lucien smirked at her reluctant obedience and gave her a drop of the blueish antidote.

"Happy now?" She scoffed.

Her glare intensified, filled with hate.

"I'm leaving" she declared, intending to put distance between herself and him.

Before she could take another step, Lucien swiftly used his abilities to make her drift into a deep sleep. He sighed, looking at her peacefully slumbering form, and gently reached out to arrange her scattered hair to the side.

"You have been smiling a lot, Luci" Coral said as she observed Lucinda's sudden change in expression.

"Why shouldn't I? My greatest enemy is about to die" Lucinda replied, her fingers idly toying with strands of her hair.

"The moment you have been wishing for" she grinned.

Lucinda's eyes gleamed with a dark amusement as she responded, "Yes, baby. It's all I ever wanted."

"And we're about to have our wish come true" Coral added, her smile mirroring Lucinda's sinister expression.
