My eyebrows raise in shock. This isn't what I expected him to say. My face of confusion slowly turns into one of amusement, and I'm eventually laughing my heart out.
His face scrunches up. "What are you laughing like that for?" He asks.
"You're so funny, Tom. Really. Yeah, no, I won't be doing anything you tell me to do just because you told me to do it. So, I'm going to talk to him whenever, however, and however much I want to."
He rolls his eyes. "Okay. But you'll regret it."
Ugh, he's such a little weirdo.
I roll my eyes and walk to the Main Hall, irritated that I only have 8 of the 15 minutes of the break to find and talk to Dierdre. By the time I finally reach her, I only have 5 minutes left to talk to her.
"y/n! Finally, where have you been?" She asks, annoyance evident in her voice.
"I've been looking for you for the past 3 minutes."
"Break started 10 minutes ago."
"Tom was being weird."
"Ah," she says. "That makes sense."
We talk for the remaining time until it's time for our next class.
This school year has just started and I'm already about to lose my mind.
