The two were just quiet as Laney went to paint and Morgan went to the lake. There wasn't anything said between them after the shower.

She didn't paint a thing in an hour as she just felt bad. She stepped out of the room and walked to the living room to see Morgan fishing at the lake with a need in his hand.

She grabbed a glass of wine as she walked out there, where there was now a trail he had put in since the night there were muddy puddles.

He could hear her approach as the dock began to creak. But he kept his back turned to her as he sipped his beer and stared off into the lake.

"Babe, I'm sorry. I just meant that I can't be with you the whole time. I'll be able to fly out to some shows but I really still want to work to build my own name out here," she explained.

He turned around, "Do you think dating me is going to make that easier?".

That was an unexpected question.

"It's already hard as it is in Event Management. Morgan, I just want to still have a job. I don't want to be relying on you," she said.

"I get it. It's okay. We have our own plane now too so I can fly you out when you can make it. Last time it was a bus and it was horrible. But this time it's a mix of both," he said, "What weekdays work for you?".

This felt like a business meeting. What days worked for her?

"Babe let's play it by ear. I'll always pick up the phone," she added, "Besides I can use PTO to come when you have a break".

He placed the fishing rod to the side and wrapped his arms around her and nudging his nose into hers, "You've made me go soft".

She grinned, "I was hoping it would be the opposite".

"Oh? You always do that," he smirked.

"Shut up," she playfully slapped his chest, "I love you".

He squeezed her, "I love you more Laney girl. You're lookin real fine this morning".

She blushed, "So we'll play it more by ear?".

He nodded, "We'll play it by ear. I hope you know that I am not going to screw this up again though".

"You better not," she furrowed her eyebrows and looked at him.

He covered her in kisses making her giggle, "and I want to take you on a proper date today".

She smiled, "Where are we going?".

He pointed to the lake that was sitting behind them.

"I don't have a bathing suit here," she told him.

"Skinny dippin works," he grinned.

"Babe"

"I'll take you shopping. Let's go," he said as he grabbed the pole and his beer.

She grabbed her glass of wine and walked back towards the house, what was now unofficially their house. She knew it wasn't really official but she knew that she would be there almost all the time and that she had his spare keys. Deep down she knew they were also resuming a chapter and starting a new one at the same time.

As the couple walked into the house, Laney turned around for one last glance at the yard. She couldn't help but smile at thinking of the life they would create here one day with possibly a family of their own. Sure she was daydreaming a little too soon but this place felt like her very own safe space with him.

She went into the box of stuff she brought and decided to change. She went into the closet and started hanging the clothes she brought up and picking out an outfit. Surely it was shorts or even skirt weather with a cute tank top. She put on a light grey tank top and some denim shorts with her Nikes.
