"where the fuck have you been?" san walked right into seonghwa sitting on the living room couch with a cup of tea in his hands. he looked over san and grabbed his phone that was on the table next to him, "good job on leaving behind your phone, idiot". san sighed, plopping down next to him, laying his head on seonghwa's lap.

seonghwa peered down at him, "well?" he questioned and san groaned. "can you just be quiet for a few minutes? my head is killing me". the headache from his hangover was still very present. it seemed to have worsen after his interaction with wooyoung.

seonghwa scoffed, "your stupid phone was ringing the whole night and my head hurts too. you just ditched us and completely disappeared and now you want me to stay quiet when you stroll in with zero explanation?".

"fuck, seonghwa" san whined and sat up. "you do realize it's your fault i left?" seonghwa looked at san with an offended expression, "what the fuck did i do?" san leaned back and sighed. of course seonghwa wouldn't remember anything from last night, he was out of his mind drunk. and to be fair, he couldn't be mad at seonghwa either. "nevermind, i'm here and i'm fine. thats all that should matter, right?".

seonghwa huffed, "no. i was worried sick and no one knew where you were. i even called jiyeon-"

"you called jiyeon?" san interrupted seonghwa. he could only imagine what jiyeon thought when seonghwa called asking where san was last night and groaned in frustration.

"it's not like i wanted to. i thought you were with her".

"why the fuck would i be with jiyeon?" san spat while grabbing his phone. he scrolled through his notifications seeing dozens of missed calls and texts from jiyeon.

seonghwa smacked san's arm, "hey, don't get mad at me! if you told me or yunho where you were i wouldn't have to call anyone". san ignored seonghwa and looked through the texts jiyeon sent him. there were at least 20 and they were along the lines of "where are you", "call me", and "answer the phone".

"how did she sound on the phone?" san asked seonghwa. seonghwa furrowed his eyebrows and squinted as he tried to recall his phone call with jiyeon.

"i don't know...worried?" seonghwa looked at san, "why don't you just call her?". san scratched the back of his neck and looked back at his phone. he didn't know if he should call her. he didn't want her to worry over him but he was also afraid she'd be mad at him. and when jiyeon was mad, she was mad. considering his massive headache, he wasn't sure if he could take her yelling at him over the phone.

san pressed on the call button, his heart pounding in his chest. he's known jiyeon for years, but he still wasn't used to her reactions or how she would react. the line barely rang when jiyeon picked up the call.

"san? where have you been. i called and texted. why the fuck would you disappear like that? do you know how worried i was?" san stayed silent while jiyeon continued her string of how she couldn't sleep all night and how she almost called the police to look for him. he let out a smile, touched by how worried she was.

"i didn't have my phone with me, sorry for worrying you" he said when jiyeon finally finished.

"what happened?" she asked. san thought for a moment. he was too embarrassed to admit he passed out drunk on a stranger and woke up in his house. "i met a friend and lost track of time" he ended up saying, wincing at how suspicious that sounded.

"which friend?" jiyeon's tone sounded almost accusatory. seonghwa looked at san with a raised eyebrow, also awaiting his answer. "just a co-worker from work" he mumbled. he sucked at lying.

"you're not meeting other people, are you? because i swear-"

"no! seriously, jiyeon. is that what you think? it was just a friend, a guy even". san quickly sputtered. seonghwa let out a chuckle at how frantic san looked.

"you better not. we're on a break, we didn't break up" jiyeon warned. "but i'm glad you're okay" she admitted. san smiled and glint of hope rushed through him. maybe things would work out between them.

"i'll talk to you later" jiyeon said and hung up. san let out a relieved sigh as he closed his phone. he turned to see seonghwa glaring at him with his arms crossed.

"where'd you go last night?" seonghwa asked.

"to the park" san answered blankly. if he was being honest, he didn't want to go too much into detail on what happened last night.

seonghwa clicked his tongue, obviously not believing a word coming from san's mouth. "you slept at the park?" he asked with his eyebrows raised.

san's lips formed a thin line. he's known seonghwa for a long time. he knew seonghwa wouldn't just let it go and honestly, if the roles were reversed, he'd be just as persistent as seonghwa.

"fine" san surrendered, "i was drunk and i passed out on some dude. and this morning, i woke up in his room". his ears reddened in embarrassment.

seonghwa blinked at him, his mouth open in shock, "what?" he managed to ask.

"nothing happened! i didn't have my phone so he let me sleep in his room, that's it" san quickly said, hoping that seonghwa wouldn't misunderstand.

"so you don't know this guy? he just...took you home?" seonghwa was at a loss for words. san would've laughed at his expression but he realized this wouldn't be the appropriate time to do that.

"don't say it like that!" san slapped seonghwa's arm, "he was just being nice, don't make it weird".

seonghwa rubbed his now aching arm and looked at san, "are you stupid? a random guy brought you home last night while you were drunk. that doesn't sound strange to you?".

"nothing happened!" san protested, flailing his arms in the air. he really thought he was going to lose his mind. he realized how odd it sounded and seonghwa's weirdly suggestive tone towards the situation only made it worse.

"okay okay!" seonghwa brought his arms down, "i was just worried but if you say you're fine, i'll drop it". san huffed and sunk back into the couch.

"by the way" seonghwa started and san turned to look at him, "why did you leave and get drunk by yourself?". san contemplated for a moment, wondering if he should tell the truth. seonghwa was the one who he confided the most into and he knew that seonghwa didn't mean anything from last night. heck, he was so drunk, he had probably forgotten all about his situation with jiyeon and just wanted san to sing since he was the only one who didn't.

"i don't remember" san said after pondering. it wasn't a big deal anyway so seonghwa didn't have to know.
