Sebastian's Perspective

"Ok Sebastian, you can do this. There is no need to panic. It is just one simple question. You have already slept with her and told her you love her. This should be the easiest step" I mutter to myself like a mad man as I pace around my dormitory room. Thank Merlin the only person in the room right now is Ominis because if someone saw how I looked right now, I would be sent to St. Mungos.

I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror in the corner of the room. My hair is a disheveled mess falling all around my face from constantly running my fingers through it. My tie is undone and slightly askew and the top two bottoms of my shirt are undone. I look proper mad.

Why am I so stressed? Simple really. It is the night of the Halloween Party and it is Y/n's nineteenth birthday. I am not planning a date for us like I did last year, but I am going to ask her to be my girlfriend.

This should not be this daunting of a task, but I am terrified. There is no reason why I should be. I know she loves me and I know she wants to be with me, but there is still this doubt gnawing in the back of my head. She could still say no. She may like what we have now, so adding a title to it may only complicate it more for her. Also, someone is actively trying to kill her, so her focus may be more aimed towards that situation.

My focus is mainly on that issue as well, but I know asking her to be my girlfriend will not be a distraction. I intend to protect her with everything I have. I will kill anyone who even looks at her wrong and I know I would not even bat an eye in the process. Her being my girlfriend does not change a thing. I am still going to keep her safe.

I have not left her side since the incident happened on the quidditch pitch, except for the rare occasions like now where she is showering in the girl's lavatory. If she was showering in her Room of Requirement, I would be right there with her, but she wanted to get ready with Imelda tonight for the party. I reluctantly let her because Imelda swore to me she would not leave her side.

"Will you stop pacing" Ominis barks out. "I hate listening to you ramble and trip over yourself."

I stop pacing and finally look up at Ominis. He is dressed up for the party wearing slim black trousers, a black button up shirt, with a very expensive black formal jacket. I have no idea what he is dressed up as, but he looks a little dark and evil. I like it. Ominis has every excuse to be a villain, but he is the nicest bloke anyone will ever meet. It is interesting to see a saintly person embracing such a dark look. Oddly enough, it suits him.

"I am sorry mate" I sigh and walk back over to the mirror to fix my appearance. My costume for this year, myself. I figured I am too much of a character to waste my time trying to replicate anyone else. I also just did not want to put in the time or effort to try and think of a costume. I think I am getting too old for that kind of stuff anyway.

"Why are you pacing anyway" Ominis gets up and stands beside me. He places a reassuring hand on my shoulder and I look at his reflection in the mirror. His eyes are laced with warmth and concern. What in Merlin's name would I do without this man by my side? Without being able to see me, he can tell that I am tense and I am in desperate need of some encouraging words.

I just sigh and look down at my tie adjusting it. It has been straight since I got in front of the mirror, but maybe if I tie it tight enough I can black out and wake up the next day. In a perfect world, Y/n would just be my girlfriend without me having to ask, but when has live ever been easy? I thought she was my girlfriend, so maybe I can just drop on her that she IS my girlfriend. I don't have to ask her which means she cannot say no to me.
