When the howls of their children reached their ears. Lan Wangji and A-Ying let out one of their own. A powerful howl ripped through the night air as another followed swiftly as they neared the clearing. The smell of decaying flesh and death hung heavy in the air as well as the smell of blood. The three younger wolves upon hearing their parents answer upon their call howls back and Lan Wangji. A-Ying and Fenhua shifted into their wolf forms before their feet touched the ground. 
Standing before the three younger wolves. They looked imposing and dangerous. Their fur swaying in the wind. Wen Zhuliu and Wen Xu dismounted their swords and went to assist Wei Ying and Lan Zhan. They both took two energy repelling beads from the pouches and fed it to them before attending to their wounds. 
The fierce corpses had stopped attacking just for a minute before they started to storm forward again, but another powerful growl in warning left both Wangji and Chenqing. Their red and golden eyes blazing like the sun and the red blood moon. The fierce corpses stopped in their tracks. Their angry grunts echo through the clearing. 
Clapping could be heard before a men's voice could be heard.
"What a powerful display of power. But. Could you beat me."
The first thing they saw was the red eyes through the thickness of the resentful energy before a man clad in black came walking into view. The fierce corpses made way as the man walked through them. Resentful energy rolls of him like a waterfall. A low angry growl left the mouths of the family and the four behind them.
"Now, is that a way to greet strangers. I do not think that is very welcoming or nice of you."
The man said as he came to a stop a few feet away from them. His eyes never left the big white wolf. 
"You attack our children and their friends, and you want us to be nice about it."
Wangji growls out as he pulls his upper lip back and bares his teeth at the man. The man laughs instead before making a tsk sound with his teeth.
"My mistake. I should've waited. But now that you are all here, let me explain a few things. You see, I was supposed to keep only those two alive."
He pointed at Chenqing and Lan Min with a dark smirk, and that rubbed the others up in the wrong way as growls of warning echoes through the clearing. 
"But I have no need to keep them alive anymore, see as my master is dead. So now I will just kill all of you. He did say, and I mean he made it very clear that none of you should leave this timeline alive. It will be an honor to fulfill his last wish."
He said with a mocking bow before the white wolf leaps at him with the intention of ripping him to shreds for threatening his family. The black wolf followed behind. But their fangs and claws only met air as the resentful energy swirls around the man and only left an empty space where he previously stood. The white and black wolf was caught off guard as something heavy punched into their sides, making them both yelp as they skidded a few feet away. Shaking their heads, they looked around until their eyes found their target. Anger coiling through their every being when they saw four fierce corpses came running towards them once again.
They rush forward and collided with the fierce corpses. Ripping them to pieces. Wei Ying and Lan Zhan had regain their strength and together with Wen Zhuliu and Wen Xu they cut and slashed through the hordes of fierce corpses. The other four wolves also made their way through the onslaught of the fierce corpses. Biting and ripping them apart. 
Up in a tree the man watched on as the six wolves and four humans run amok through the fierce corpses as if they were nothing at this moment. His red eyes gleams with intensity bordering on hate at this point but he did not make a move to join the fight. He knows that he is not yet strong enough to take them on. If he wants to beat them. He needs to evolved into something that is unable to beat.
