Steph Houghton. What a player. Absolute legend on and off the pitch. Her impact on football, and women's football specifically, is absolutely remarkable and truly inspiring.

She has been a vital player and person in the game for years, and it would not be where it is if she hadn't been there. Her role as England skipper specifically too, just wow. I'm in awe of her and everything that she's achieved.

I hope she has a wonderful last season, (despite playing for City, lol) but in all seriousness, what a baller, and an even better person. Gonna miss her longtime.

Enjoy :)

Y/N's POV

April rolled around extremely fast. But I was not complaining. I'm back on England Camp, this time, with the senior team.

I'm still feeling like I need to pinch myself to see if this is actually real.

Since after the last camp, all has been going well. Everything at Untied is good, I have been playing well and enjoying every minute of it, alongside going out a load more with the girls, having fun and enjoying it all.

Myself and Katie have been visiting eachother as much as possible, we managed to go to one of eachother's games, which was really fun, we've had a couple of nights out in either Manchester or London. Our relationship is just getting better as each day passes.

I've even spent time with some of the girls from the last England camp too. Some of the girls from London came up to Manchester, and some of us went down to London to go out and just enjoy the time that we do occasionally get off.

So yeah, life has been great lately.

But as soon as I arrived back at St. George's Park in the evening, got my kit, got allocated my room, which I had no idea who I were going to be sharing with, and then made my way into the team meeting, it became a lot more real.

The nerves were setting in for me. Quickly the room starting filling with faces I know of those i've admired for so long.

The likes of Steph Houghton, Fara Williams, Alex Scott, Karen Carney, Ellen White, Lucy Bronze, Jordon Nobbs, and a whole load of others. But these girls were now my teammates, and that is going to have to take some getting used to.

I sat at the front on the end, and quickly the seat next to me filled, I turned to see a smiling Lucy Bronze looking at me, I smiled back at her, trying to hide my nerves in.

"You're Y/n aren't you?" She asked me, and I nodded, replying with a soft, "Yeah", she smiled again, before asking, "You okay?" and I nodded in response.

Just after I nodded at Lucy's question, Mark and a few of the other staff came down to the front and they began their introduction.

As every England camp, it was always the same. The welcome speech, the aims of this camp, the expectations from us individually as well as a team. But then lastly he went onto something else.

"Obviously, we have one new person who we're welcoming into the senior team for this camp, Y/n, welcome to the team. We all very much look forward to having you in the team with us all. All these girls have your back now, anything you need or are unsure about, these girls have got you. You all know how daunting it can be to be the only new player coming in, so make sure to help Y/n settle in with yous" He said as he looked at me, smiling, I smiled back, nodding slightly, as I could also feel all the eyes in the room on me.

Eventually the meeting wrapped up, and a few of the girls came up to me, introducing themselves as if I didn't already know who they were, but regardless, I appreciated all of them for being welcoming.
