Y/N was sitting with his fiancee, Koriand'r, in his penthouse in New York. They had just returned from a vacation in the Vatican City, where he had proposed to her. Of course, Kory accepted his proposal, and the two returned home to prepare for their wedding.
Y/N was staring out of the window, thinking about the guest list when he suddenly realized- his parents never met Kory.
Y/N was one of the best brain surgeons on the planet, and he often had to travel for his job, bringing Kory with him. Because of this, they were rarely home, and Y/N couldn't even remember the last time he visited his parents. And while both Y/N and Kory had social media, his parents didn't. They knew she existed, of course, but they had no idea what she looked like or her personality.
"What are you thinking about, honey?" Kory asked Y/N, placing her hand on his shoulder.
Y/N placed his hand on top of hers. "You've never met my parents. You probably should before we get married."
Kory gasped. "I would love to meet your parents! I cannot believe that I have not met them yet. Oh... do you think they will be okay with my appearance?"
Y/N brought her hand to his lips and gently kissed it. "Of course. You're captivating. I'm sure they'll love you."
Kory giggled. "If you say so."
Y/N quickly texted his parents to let them know that he was bringing Kory over tonight and then took Kory shopping for a new outfit for dinner.

Kory and Y/N arrived at his parent's house on the outskirts of the city; it was a cute little ranch-style house that was a nice scenic break from the busy cityscape.
Y/N grabbed her hand supportively as they approached the door and rang the doorbell.
"Oh! Philip! Our boy is here!" Y/N heard his mom say from inside. The door opened and Y/N's mom flew out, engulfing him in a hug. "My boy my boy my boy, how I've missed you! And this must be..." she trailed off as she took in Kory.
"Darling, what's taking so long?" Philip asked, joining them outside. He paused when he noticed the six-foot-four alien with wild hair. "Woah."
"Mom, Dad, meet Koriand'r. She prefers to go by Kory," Y/N introduced her. "This is my fiancee."
Kory blushed and waved. "Hello Mr and Mrs Y/L/N, it is lovely to meet you."
Y/N's smile faltered as he watched his parents hesitate. Finally, Philip stuck out his hand. "Please, call us Philip and Sharyn, Kory."
Kory excitedly shook his hand.
"Now why don't you two love birds follow us inside? I made Chili and Mac and Cheese!" Sharyn chirped, gesturing for Kory and Y/N to follow them inside.
Y/N winked and nudged his fiancee. "See, I told you."
Kory giggled as they went inside.
Philip sat at the head of the dinner table while Sharyn sat across from Y/N and Kory.
"This used to be Y/N's favourite meal as a child," Sharyn told Kory. "Sometimes we couldn't even get him to take a bath without promising him Chili and mac and cheese afterwards."
Kory chuckled as Y/N turned bright red. "Here we go..."
"Now now, son, we're not trying to embarrass you. Kory just needs to know how to tame you if you ever go crazy," Philip explained, sending a wink Kory's way. "To be honest, I'm impressed you managed to land someone as splendid as her."
