It had been a few weeks since Izuku was brought to Eijiro, Shoto and Katsuki, and though his talk with Denki helped Izuku relax, he was still nervous and barely getting any sleep.
Granted, it was more sleep than he usually got, but it still wasn't much.
Izuku kicked off his blankets for the fourth time that night and turned, trying to get comfortable enough to sleep. This, of course, didn't work. He got cold again and tried to cover himself with a blanket to warm up.
The cycle repeated, and quite frankly, it was highly annoying.
Izuku kicked his feet over the side of the bed and sat up, deciding that if he couldn't sleep, it would be an ok time to look around the house. Everyone else should be asleep so he wouldn't have to worry.
The omega threw on one of his new sweaters and quietly walked to the door. He only opened the door a crack to see if anyone was outside and thankfully found no one.
The hall was dark, the only light source coming from a window at the end of the hall. Izuku tiptoed to the stairs, not making a noise and hopefully not waking anyone up.
Even when Eijiro showed Izuku around, the omega hadn't paid much attention. He was more focused on not angering the alpha than remembering where anything was. So he crept into the living room, and the first thing he did was go over to the window to look outside.
The living room was on the second floor, along with the kitchen, a washroom and the front door. He eyed the basement door momentarily but thought against checking it out. He didn't want to get in trouble if he was caught.
Izuku wandered into the kitchen, figuring out where everything was. Sooner or later, he'd probably have to cook something, and Izuku would not let himself look like an idiot when that time came.
"Looking for something?"
Izuku froze, hand on the closed cabinet door. Shit. He spun around quickly to see Katsuki standing by the light switch. He turned it on, and Izuku tried not to flinch when the light assaulted his eyes. "N-no- I just- umm-" he couldn't get anything else out.
"The fuck are you doing up at this time?" Katsuki asked as his brain slowly processed everything. "It's like 2 in the god damned morning."
Izuku wanted to ask what he was also doing up at this time, but he thought better of it. "I-sorry-"
Katsuki's brows furrowed, "sorry?" He repeated. The alpha was not awake enough to figure out what Izuku was apologizing for this time.
"I- woke you up?" It sounded more like a question, as if Izuku wasn't sure what he was apologizing for and had just hoped the alpha would take the apology for whatever it was he might get mad about. "I shouldn't be here?"
Katsuki stared at him for a moment, "fuck no, you didn't wake me up," he rubbed his eyes and headed towards the kitchen, unaware of how Izuku stepped around him to keep his distance. "Just needed some fucking water."
"Oh-" Izuku muttered, looking down.
"Now, what are you doing up?" Katsuki asked again as he opened one of the cupboards and grabbed a cup.
"I... couldn't sleep," Izuku muttered truthfully. There was no point in lying.
Katsuki hummed and filled the glass. He seemed a lot more docile when he was sleepy. Izuku didn't find himself as scared of the blond as he usually was.
"Bad dreams?" Katsuki asked before taking a sip of his water.
Izuku shrugged, "I just couldn't sleep," he muttered.
