AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA—

Okay hold on, what I meant to say is — thank you so so much for coming on this journey with me!
The entire Highschool Lovers series has become a huge source of comfort to me in difficult times. Both writing and re-reading the stories when I don't feel like myself (which is. Quite often.) have given me a sense of peace and a place in the world and I am so so happy I had the impulsive idea to write this one into an self-indulgent aspec fic. My original plan was to just write a quick short fic about Joohyoung's perspective on his breakup with Vahn and then I SPIRALED and ended up here. Whoops...

Writing this has made me feel much more comfortable in my identity. It has given me the chance to put my feelings towards...feelings, I guess, into words. The chance to say fuck you to amatonormativity and show 1) how deep friendship can go and 2) how romance doesn't have to be part of one's life in order to be happy. Joohyoung and Jiho hold so much love in their heart and not feeling romance does not mean they are incomplete or not human or repressed and sad.

I want to point out once again that this fic and the way the characters see romance/relationships/feelings is a reflection of MY aspec experience. It might differ to yours, it might even be something you could never imagine for yourself, and that's completely okay and normal!! People are diverse and so are the relationships they want or not want. Just please respect and believe my feelings, because everybody deserves to be seen and respected for who they are.

Word cannot describe how much I adore this story and it is painful to leave it behind now :( definitely my longest project in the series ahhh countless hours went into this...

So thank you!
Thank you for reading. Thank you for understanding.
Thank you for being open-minded and giving this a chance. I know aspec culture is very foreign to people who feel both sexual and romantic attraction the usual amount, and I hope you learned a thing or two from this.

See you soon for the next installment of the series!
In love,
— Mona
