You and Mattheo are dating for almost six months now. At first you were a little bit hesitant because he never stayed with a girl more than one week, but he proved you that he really loves you. He proved you repeatedly that he changed. That he changed because of you. After your initial worry was gone your relationship grew stronger day by day.
But there was one thing you didn't know about your relationship. That it started with a bet. Mattheo made a bet Draco that he can make you fall in love with him. But he didn't know he's going to fall in love with you too. He had one month to make you fell for him. But this time he fell for you too, so he pretended to forget the bet. It looked like Draco and the others who heard about the bet too forget it. He never wanted to mention it again, because he regretted, he made that bet. Every day he was hesitated to tell you about it or not. He knows he's going to lost you if he tells you, so he kept it a secret. He didn't want to lose you. You were the best thing in his life. He would do anything for you.
One day. One overheard conversation. This was all it takes him to lose you. Just one conversation and everything you had was gone.
You and Mattheo were in a happy relationship. In your six-month anniversary you woke up in his arms. You woke for the feeling that he's playing with your hair. You slowly opened your eyes and looked up at him.
"Good morning, Angel" he said in his morning voice and kissed your forehead.
"Good morning, Matty" you said with a small smile.
"What are you doing today?" he asked you and continued playing with your hair.
"I'm going to Hogsmeade with Pansy for a girly day"
"I want to take you tonight to the Black Lake for our six-month anniversary so hurry back"
"I had to grab you surprise too" you said to remind yourself for it.
"What surprise?"
"You'll see it tonight" you told with then get out of bed to get ready. Mattheo just groaned at your answer. You quickly changed clothes then walk back to Mattheo who was still laying in bed. You kissed him and went to the door "I love you Matty"
"I love you more Angel" he told you then you left with a big smile.
You met with Pansy in the Great Hall, and you headed to Hogsmeade. You bought a lot of new clothes and a lot of candy. Then you went to the Three Broomstick to grab a drink. You sat down to an empty table after you get your drinks and started talking.
"What are you giving to Mattheo?" she asked you curiously.
"A puppy"
"A puppy? What puppy?"
"He told me he always wanted a puppy. A dobermann, so I get him one. I think it's a perfect gift"
"You're too kind. Do you have any idea what he's going to give you? I mean he already gave you a necklace with his initial and a promise ring. What else he can give you?"
"I don't know. But he said he want to take me to the Black Lake tonight"
"Then we better hurry back" she said after you finished your drinks. She put money on the table and started dragging you back, but you stopped.
"Wait. I have to go for the puppy"
"Yeah. Right. Then we're going there" she said and started dragging you to the other direction. You went into a shelter, and you told the man you're here for a puppy. He asked you name and when you give him your name he disappeared and come back with a puppy. You paid and thanked then you left the shelter and went back to Hogwarts.
In the common room Pansy took your bags and the puppy to took it your shared dorm while you're going to Mattheo's dorm. When you were in front of his door you heard talking so you stopped and started listening. You know that eavesdropping is a bad thing, but you were curious what they boys are talking about.
"When are you going to tell her?" asked someone and you recognized his voice. He's Draco.
"I don't know what you are talking about Draco" Mattheo said and you heard in his voice he's worried.
"You know what he's talking about Mattheo. He's talking about you and Y/n" Theo said and your heart started beating really fast.
"Tell her what?" Mattheo asked like he doesn't know what the boys are talking about.
"I never thought I'm going to say that brother. But you took the bet a little too far. I mean six-month. You made it more than six months ago and you're still with her" Tom said and tears blurry your sight.
"Yeah, mate. You took it a little too far" Enzo said.
"Are you fell for her or what?" Blaise asked him but before Mattheo can answer you opened the door with teary eyes. Mattheo immediately stands up while the others tried to avoid your gaze.
"So this was all a bet? I was a bet? Our relationship was a lie?" you asked, and tears started flowing down your cheeks. Mattheo lifted his hands to wipe them away, but you took a step back "Just answer" he inhaled deeply and looked down at the floor.
"It started as a bet. But I fell for you. I completely forget the bet. It doesn't matter. I love you"
"You're lying. Everything was a lie. Why? I thought you changed. You did just to get some money. Is it worth it? Is it worth to play with my feeling?" you asked crying.
"No. Just please listen" he said and his eyes were teary too.
"I don't want to hear it. Save your lies. I don't care. You broke my heart. I don't want to see you" you said and turned around to leave but stopped. You took off the necklace and the promise ring and throw it to the floor then left his dorm and run to yours.
You burst open your room door and Pansy was shocked to see you. You closed the door behind you and locked it so no one can come in. When Pansy so saw tear-stained cheeks she got up from her bed, walked to you and embraced you in a big hug. You wrapped your arms loosely around her and started crying again. She let you cry on her shoulders while she was stroking your hair to calm you. She didn't say anything, she just hugged you tightly, knowing that's the only thing you need right now. A friend and a hug. She knew you're going to tell her when you calmed down enough. After a few minutes your cries died down and you let go of her. You wiped your tears away and get a box under your bed. You put it on your bed and started throwing everything in the box which belonged to Mattheo or remind you of him. Pansy watched you confused, not knowing what's going on but she didn't want to ask it. You throw every picture, his hoodies, his clothes, and everything you get from him into the box. After you were done you put it next to the door. You grab a paper and start writing in it.
'Keep them. Or do whatever you want with them. I don't need them anymore. They're meant nothing to me now. Oh and if it wasn't obvious we're over' you write on the paper. You fold it in to write Mattheo's name on it and put in on top of the box.
"Y/n, what happened?"
"I overheard the boys conversation. I found out I was only a bet to Mattheo. He was only with me to get money. He broke my heart" you told her everything you heard and started crying again. Pansy just hugged you again and listened to you.
"That asshole. How did he dare to do that to you? And the others know and didn't say anything"
"Did you know it?" you asked, scared for her answer. She and Draco were close, so you assumed she know.
"No. Draco didn't say anything about that. If I knew I would tell you sooner. I can't believe them" she said angrily.
"If Mattheo comes here. Or any of them. Please don't let them in. I don't want to see any of them. Especially Mattheo. And if he comes, can you give him the box?"
"Of course. Don't worry, I'm here with you. And I don't let them in"
"Thank you. You're the best. I can't imagine a better best friend than you" you said and hugged her "I think I take a shower, to clear my mind a little" you let Pansy go and went to the bathroom.
Meanwhile, in Mattheo's dorm. He just started the door for minutes while tears flowing down his cheeks. He hoped you would come back. The boys remained silent. They didn't know what to say or do. It was partly their fault that it happened. And they could have seen that Mattheo love you. They shouldn't have brought up the bet. Now Mattheo's and your heart is broken too. After a few minutes of staring the door, Mattheo slowly realized you're not coming back. He dropped to his knees and put his head in his hands. The others were stayed with Mattheo because they didn't want to leave him alone, but they didn't know what to say.
After a while Mattheo stand up went to door and picked up the necklace and the ring. He put it in his pocket and headed to your dorm to apologize. He knocked on the door and waited for you to open it. But Pansy opened it with a puppy in her hands. Pansy just glared at him angrily.
"Is Y/n here?" Mattheo asked with a little hope in his voice.
"Yeah"
"Can I talk to her?"
"No. She didn't want to see you"
"Pleas. Just let me talk to her. I screwed it up"
"I know. This is why I didn't let you in. You're an asshole Mattheo. She really loved you"
"I know I'm an asshole. And I love her. I want to talk with her. I want to make it up to her"
"Don't imagine about that. Oh and this is yours" Pansy said and pushed the box out with her leg "You can tell the others they're assholes too"
"Pansy. Please" he started pleading and grabbed the box in his hands.
"No" she said and want to close the door.
"Wait" he said before she can close the door in his face "What is a puppy doing here?" at first Pansy didn't know she can tell him or not, but she decided to tell him and the worst can happen you shout at her.
"Yeah. Him. He was you gift for the anniversary. She bought you a puppy because she knows you wanted one. See, how kind she is? And you just broke her heart. And if it wasn't clear. You can't get him. We keep him. He's no longer your gift. And I would appreciate it if you stayed away from her. And me too. You know what, the better is if all of you stay away from us" she said and closed the door Mattheo's face. He just sighed and went back to his dorm with the box.
"What happened?" Draco asked.
"Well, she told and Pansy. And she didn't let me in. Give me this box. Tell me that Y/n get me a puppy for our anniversary, but they keep him now. Oh and she told me to stay away from Y/n. Well, Pansy wanted us to stay away from them"
"Us?" Regulus asked confused.
"Yeah. All of us. And she told to tell you, you're assholes too just like me. That happened"
"Fuck. That's bad" Theo said.
"Bad? You think it's bad to stay away from them? I just lost the love of my life. She hates me. She was the best thing that ever happened to me. If it's bad to stay away from them, what do you think how I feel right now? I never wanted her to find out about the bet. I wanted to forget it too. I just wanted to be happy with her. But it's not going to happen. It sucks" Mattheo said angrily.
"Well, it's our fault partly. We shouldn't bring it up" Enzo said to make Mattheo feel better.
"I'm not feeling better because you said that, Lorenzo. Can you just leave me alone guys?" he asked in a little calmer tone. The boys nodded and left Mattheo alone in his dorm. He sat down on the bed with the box. He opened the letter and read it. He read it over and over again. Like if he more he read it then the words change on it. Tears started to flow down on his cheeks again and he tore the letter into pieces then throw the pieces into the floor.
After your letter he just stare the wall for minutes. Then he got himself together a little and looked at everything in the box. He found his clothes, pictures the two of you and every gift he gave you. It just made him sadder, and he ran his fingers through his hair. He got up from his bed and started breaking things in his dorm. He made a huge mess in his room, but he didn't stop. He was sad and angry at the same time. He was angry at himself and his friends, but he was sad that he lost you and it was his fault. He started punching the wall repeatedly until his hands were bleeding and the wall was covered in blood where he punched it. His hands were hurt but his heart hurt more.
By the time, you got out of the bathroom you saw the box disappeared. You looked at Pansy who were playing with the puppy in her bed.
"He was here?" you asked.
"Yeah. But I told him he can't speak with you. And I also told him to stay away from us. He and the boys too. I hope it's okay for you"
"Yes. Thank you, Pansy. But you didn't have to stay away from them because of me"
"He broke your heart. And the boys know the whole time he's just playing. Of course, I don't want to see them. Oh and don't be too mad, but he saw the puppy and asked about it. And I told him the truth. I told him so he sees what he lost. Are you mad or upset about that?"
"No. It's okay"
"I don't want to be in his side. I'm just telling you that maybe he really loves you. I'm not saying to listen to him or to forgive him and the boys or forget what he did. I'm only saying that if I see it right and he really love you. He's not going to give up. He's going to do everything to get you back. I see the hurt in his eyes"
"He's not going to do anything"
"Believe me. He's going to. If he had to kill boys to keep them away from you, he's going to do it. But now. I have a question. We keep the puppy, right?"
"Yes" you said with a little smile.
"Yesss. I got you smile a little and we keep the puppy" Pansy said really happily, and you started laughing at her reaction and she became happier "Wanna watch a movie?" she asked you.
"Yes. What about The other woman?" you suggested and Pansy put on the movie.
