Jack was gone, and his location off by noon the next morning. Destiny was more than shocked when she realized that. He didn't seem like the type to just leave, especially after the night they had. He also made her miss out on twenty thousand dollars from the party, she was angry about that.
She didn't try to get in contact with him, she just continued on with her morning like usual. Taking a shower, eating and taking a Plan B because despite her being on birth control she was taking no chances.
Her mind felt mostly empty until she decided she wanted to go debrief with her friends over what happened and couldn't find her keys anywhere. She figured they were probably in one of her purses but she didn't feel like looking anymore than she already had.
She resorted to what she knew best which was editing a YouTube video for a few hours. Her temporary peace of mind was disturbed by the sound of her front door opening.
At first she was absolutely terrified until she realized Harley wasn't barking and the only other person who had a key to her apartment was Allyiah. "You'll never believe what happened." She said walking out of her bedroom into the kitchen.
To her surprise there were pink heart balloons and a box of flowers on her counter, as well as a few other gift boxes. Jack walked in, closing the door behind him. "If I told you how many times I've had to reorder these balloons and flowers the past two weeks you wouldn't believe me."
He sighed, placing her missing keys on her counter. As soon as Destiny realized she almost burst into tears. Jack noticed and pulled her into a hug. "Please don't tell me you thought I left you." He realized him leaving looked bad but he didn't even originally plan on leaving that morning.
"I definitely did. You could've said you'd be right back." She stressed, smiling now that she was reassured. "Open your gifts first, I'll tell you."
Destiny opened up what ended up being a Chanel bag first, filled with thirty thousand dollars. The Chanel bag being a bag she had saved on her Pinterest board a few weeks ago. "You stalk my Pinterest too?"
Jack nodded, smiling. "Your little internet friends, the ones you introduced me to helped me out." Destiny laughed heading towards the envelope, it was a card that had a note in it.
I know I might've thrown off your "Single Summer" but I want to spend all the seasons with you. Be my girlfriend?
"This is corny as shit Jack. I can't stand you." Destiny laughed as she pulled him into a kiss. "I love you too."
"You have to explain why you decided to make me think you left me earlier though." She said, shoving him lightly. Jack let out the most dramatic sigh and shook his head of disappointment.
"I was supposed to do this a few weeks ago, I planned it out with Neelam. When I got the bag I left it at my place and ordered the balloons thinking the flowers would be done the same day, but I got the flowers a week later and the balloons had deflated by then. They called me this morning saying they were ready, so I went out to get them. Had to turn off my location because I was trying to figure out how to quickly and quietly set this up without your stalker ass finding me."
"I was refreshing the hell out of your location hoping you were at the studio or something."
"I like you, I like us. I like being in you, in your life. No reason to leave."
"I caught that, you think you slick."
