Y/N groaned and opened his eyes, feeling the warm sunlight hit his face. He rolled on his side to gaze at his clock. He nearly fell out of his bed when he looked at the time.

Y/N was already thirty minutes late for his training session with Chun-Li.

"I overslept again! Damn, I need to invest in an alarm!" he scolded himself, throwing on his training gear as fast as he could.

Even though Chun-Li was Y/N's girlfriend, she was still one of the harshest masters he'd ever trained under, and she would not go easy on him, because according to her: "Inside the dojo, relationships are futile, and only a motivation; skill is what wins a battle."

So, he raced to the dojo, praying she was in a good mood. But when he stepped inside and saw Chun-Li tapping her foot as she glared at him, eyebrow raised, he knew he was in for it.

Y/N chuckled nervously. "Heyyyyyyy, babe, sorry about that... there was a lot of traffic today..."

"Lying will get you nowhere," she snapped, narrowing her eyes. "Now, come on. We have to make up for lost time."

Y/N swallowed and followed Chun-Li to the middle of the floor. "Did I tell you that you looked absolutely stunning today? I mean, you always look amazing, but today, there is just something about you-"

Chun-Li rolled her eyes and took a fighting stance. "How often have I told you, that flattery will get you nowhere in the dojo?" she asked, although her expression did appear to soften a tiny bit.

"I just want you to know I'm sorry for being late. I feel bad, so maybe afterwards we can- woah!" Y/N ducked as Chun-Li lifted her leg for a kick to his chin, which he narrowly avoided.

"Stop worrying about the future, we are in the here, and now," she instructed, resuming her starting stance.

Y/N matched it with a smirk. "Okay then, bring it."

Chun-Li didn't hesitate, she came at him again, her legs blurring into a symphony of kicks. Y/N blocked and parried, but her strikes were relentless. Each blow resonated through his bones, threatening to shatter his resolve.

Y/N gritted his teeth, lunging at her, aiming for her midsection, but she sidestepped him effortlessly. Her palm connected with his chest, sending him sprawling backwards. Gasping, Y//N regained his footing, wiping the sweat from his brow. "Well, that was new," he said, rubbing his chest.

Chun-Li nodded. "I figured I'd see how you'd handle it. Not bad, but you have still failed to hit me. Which... isn't a surprise," she teased.

"Ha, ha, ha," Y/N laughed sarcastically, although he couldn't prevent a smile from creeping onto his lips.

He clenched his fists and charged, his fists flying, but she danced away from him with a giggle. Her leg swept low, and he crashed into the mat, tasting defeat.

"You are strong, there is no doubt about that, but agility is important," she reminded him, offering Y/N her hand.

He took it and she pulled him off the floor. Suddenly, he struck at her, hoping to catch her off guard, but Chun-Li had already known he was going to try that.

With each strike, she countered with precision, exploiting every opening Y/N gave her.

He felt his ribs ache and his legs wobble, but he pressed on, fuelled by his stubborn pride and Chun-Li's cheeky grin.

Finally, she seized his wrist, twirling it until he knelt before her. "You lack control, honey," she murmured, gently pushing him so that he toppled onto his back.
