It had always been like that. Fermin inviting some friends over, you tagging along. Since Fermin had moved to Barcelona you were glued to his hip at all times. The age difference of only two years made it easier for you two to have the same friends, even the same interests.

You must say your brother had loads of friends come and go over the years but only a handful had been there since day one. You guessed it was the price you'd pay if you were a young, professional athlete but Fermin handled it quite well.

This exact group of childhood friends were currently sprawled across the couch in your living room.

Laughter and teasing erupted when Cristo couldn't manage to be in the top three of Mario Kart, even though it was one of the easier circuits. You stayed a bit more in the background, giggling to yourself at the antics of your brother's friends. You had always been the calmer sibling and rather observed and left little remarks instead of being the centre of attention.

Everyone in the group liked you, included you like a little sister and cheered you up at your worst times.

Though, there was one friend of Fermin who wouldn't see you as a little sister.

Gavi had been in your life since you were eleven. At first you were a group of three, until you all got older and the friend group slowly grew bigger.

When Gavi was twelve and first met you, he almost didn't talk to you for the first few months. Not that he didn't like you or thought you weren't nice enough to play with, he just always felt a bit giddy when you were around. It was the similar feeling you had in middle school when there was a kid you liked. Gavi didn't like this feeling at first. He couldn't have a crush on you, you were his friend and Fermin's little sister after all.

In the years that followed, Gavi did his best to push aside the feelings for you but it was almost impossible. You two saw each other at least once a week, may it be flashing a smile when Gavi came to pick Fermin up or a game you attended, he always saw you.

One day when you were fifteen, sixteen, being in the awkward puberty phase, Gavi kind of confessed to you he always had a „silly little crush" (as he called it) on you. To his luck you've developed a crush on him too and when Fermin went to his room to grab something, Gavi leaned in and kissed you on the couch. It was unexpected and awkward, yet extremely funny looking back. In respect to your brother you rejected him, you felt like you had to choose between him and Fermin. Gavi understood somehow and that's how this topic was swept under the rug and was never brought up again.

Now with you two being nineteen the feelings were still there. Gavi often tried to distract himself with other girls, but his mind always wandered back to you. You acted like nothing happened, even though your heart ached every time Fermin told you with whom Gavi was going out.

Fermin and the rest of your friends could tell there was some lingering tension in the air when the two of you were together, that's why he always had an eye on you two, just like now.

As the group kept playing Mario Kart, you grew a bit bored. You weren't playing and didn't want to, so you distracted yourself with your phone. After a while you felt the couch dip and Gavi peeked over your shoulder to glance at what you were watching. He was sitting so close that his whole side touched yours.

„You ok?" Gavi asked only above a whisper. Even though Ale and Cristo were yelling at each other in that moment, you could hear him crystal clear. How could you not? All of your attention was on him as soon as he stepped into the room you were in.

„Mhm" You mumbled. „Just watching some videos."

„Can I watch with you?" he looked at you with a small smile, your heart melting right on the spot. You nodded and looked back at your phone scared he could see you blush, but Gavi used the few seconds to look at your face, analyzing your features softly like he already did a hundred times before.
