"Speaking"

"Speaking through radio"

It was the night after the Equalist Rally. Minato was meditating out in the cool, brisk night air, sitting atop the roof of the Air Temple.

He couldn't sleep. Even while meditating, the image of Amon menacingly approaching those benders and taking their bending away scared him. He kept imagining those benders being replaced with his family. Jinora, Tenzin, Ikki, Meelo, and Pema. The thought of this kept him from sleeping, so he came up to the roof to feel the breeze on his face and meditate to try and move past this.

As he was meditating, he suddenly heard a shriek. Minato's eyes shot open, and his head snapped toward where the sound came from: the women's dorms.

Minato swiftly got to his feet and dashed across the rooftop, making little to no sound as he covered the distance from the temple to the dorms in seconds, his speed augmented by his airbending.

Landing on top of the roof of the women's dorms, Minato noticed Naga poking her head into Korra's room and relaxed, sighing in relief, knowing Korra wasn't in danger.

Standing from his crouched, ready stance, his relieved expression changed to worry as he stared at Korra's window before turning and leaping off the roof. He then returned to his room to try and get some semblance of sleep.

The following morning, Tenzin left early for City Hall for a Council Meeting while Minato and Korra sat in the dining hall having breakfast. The only time Minato could have fish was when Tenzin was gone.

Korra was sitting in front of Minato, looking tired with dark circles under her eyes.

"I heard you scream last night," Minato spoke, stopping Korra as her eyes went wide in fear like a child caught with her hand in the cookie jar.

"Do you wanna talk about it?" he asked, taking another piece from his fish, bringing the chopsticks to his mouth with the small piece as he ate it.

"No," Korra snapped, continuing to eat her food. Minato glanced up at her briefly, observing her nervous form before returning to his food.

"Very well. We'll be going over your movements again today. You're still too stiff," Minato commented as Korra glanced up at him, surprised he wasn't pressing the issue before looking down at her food.

"Okay," she replied quietly as the two ate in silence.

For the rest of the day, Minato lazily observed Korra practicing her movements, stopping to correct her every so often till she got them right. Once she got them to a satisfying level, Minato had her join him in going through the airbending katas. Since Korra couldn't produce any air, she was stuck performing the motions while watching Minato fire off powerful, concentrated air blasts.

Korra watched Minato practice the forms and was in awe of how fluid and light on his feet he was—a true airbender. But for some reason, Korra felt something was missing in his bending. It was as if he was only going through the motions of the airbending forms, mindlessly and without meaning or emotion.

That night, Korra was practicing her steps and airbending movements, moving in a circular form while she listened to jazz music on the radio.

But she was stopped in her movement when the radio broadcast was hijacked.

"Good evening, my fellow Equalists," Amon spoke as Korra's head snapped to the radio in fear.

"This is your leader, Amon. As you have heard, the Republic Council has voted to make me public enemy number one, proving once again that the bending oppressors of this city will stop at nothing to quash our revolution," Amon said as Korra's fear only grew as she stared at the radio with wide eyes.
