The next morning, I received a message from an unknown number on my cell phone while I was sitting in my lecture.

Since I wasn't listening, as I didn't understand a word anyway, I opened the message.

Hey, its Jake.

Can we meet up somewhen today? I kinda have an idea regarding your Jay problem.

Oh, that was pretty quick. Our agreement was only 2 days ago and I didn't expect him to be that serious about it.

I reviewed my schedule in my head.

Let's meet up tonight, at 7 pm. Race track

It didn't even take a second for him to start typing again.

Let's do 8 pm. I'm done with training then.

I just sent him a thumbs up when a question flattered into my mind.

How did you even get my number??

I waited for an answer for the rest of the lecture, but to no avail. Fuck it. I don't really care where he got the number from.

When the bell rang, I made my way out of the building. I had really neglected my studies in the last few days and couldn't afford to do it anymore.

So I decided to use the time I had between now and Jake's and my meeting to read through my notes.

But on my way out, a well known face suddenly crossed my path on the campus.

However, he wasn't alone, but with 2 other boys and another girl. She was short and black-haired and he had his hand wrapped around her waist as they walked side by side.

Of course it was Mr. Handsome.

My steps slowed as Jay looked straight in my direction. I was actually expecting the four of them to walk past me and pay me no further attention. But Jay's nod made the whole group turn around and walk up to me.

For a second I wondered if I should just turn around and run away, but I decided against it and waited for them to reach me.

"Hey Hey Princess, didn't expect you to meet you here.". He said with a grin and I noticed how the girl gave me a derogatory check-out.

At first I didn't say anything because, to be honest, I was a bit overwhelmed by the situation. Why should he talk to me if it wasn't for the purpose of embarrassing me again?

"I didn't know you were also enrolled at the university," I said in a monotone.

"Well, surprise. I am. With a scholarship in the business major.". His voice was full of pride and the girl giggled.

"Didn't your dad pay for the scholarship?" asked one of the boys.

"Shut up"

Of course. That was obvious. I didn't expect Jay to be so clever as to earn a scholarship himself.

"Is this the girl who wants to date you, Jay?". She asked in innocently.

Excuse me!? How did she know?

"Skyla, I told you not to talk about it!". He rolled his eyes playfully.

My anger began to boil inside me. "Do you enjoy putting me down? I don't know what your problem is, but it's embarrassing that you can't resolve this matter like a civilized adult. If I were you, I'd be a bit more careful, otherwise you might soon no longer have a racing team and can go back to America, where you belong.". With these words, I spun around and walked away.
