Izuku shot awake, gasping for air.

It was a dream. It was all just a dream. He continued to reassure himself by telling himself over and over.

his heart pounded violently within his chest. It ached. The boy hunched over, scratching his chest as if to attempt to pull his heart out with his bare hands, to no avail. His breaths became shakey, being just as unstable as his heartbeat.

"Deku?"

Startled by the sudden calling of his name, Izuku quickly grabbed a nearby stone and threw it to where the sound came from. The rock hit a tree nearby, where katsuki emerged from.

"Deku, you're awake?"

Seeing Katsuki again seemed to make Izuku even more irritated than before. Izuku struggled to speak.

Katsuki slowly walked toward Izuku's side, sitting down next to him. Hot tears ran down Izuku's cheeks.

"Deku, im-"

"Sorry."

Izuku had cut Katsuki off, somehow beating him to what he was planning to say. "I shouldn't have ran off like that. I put us both in danger. I'm really...really sorry." Izuku continued to cry, the tears burning like acid against his face. "I was just scared of the truth. Cause you're right; I'm weak. I can't figure things out on my own. My only solutions so far have just been to ignore everything around me and hurt myself in the process. It's pathetic. I'm pathetic."

Katsuki had stayed silent, looking away from Izuku.

"Do you ever.....want to punch someone? Punch someone just to punch them."

Izuku paused to this question. "What?"

"You know. They aggravate you so much you want to punch them. Or even, you aggravate yourself. You're so sick of yourself that you want to put down anybody who reminds you of your own weakness."

"I don't...I don't know..." Izuku paused between sobs, wiping his tears away swiftly.

"Deku, you remind me of my weaknesses. You remind me of all my shortcomings, my failures, my poor personality, all of it."

Izuku began to calm himself a bit. He looked down, closing his eye. The two boys refused to make eye contact. But it was different than before. It wasn't out of hatred or disgust, but more out of respect. They knew the other didn't want to see them like this.

A strong wind passed the two boys, with a slight rain following.

"I hate everything about you." Katsuki continued. "I hate everything you do and everything you are. I hate it because I don't have it. You're a great leader Deku. You somehow attract so many people toward you. It's actually kind of freaky."

Izuku smiled to this statement. "Is that a compliment?"

Katsuki gave the strongest and most diabolical side eye known to man. (It was actually so crazy.)

Izuku choked back on his words. "OKAY DAMN. NEVERMIND."

"Wait....When the fuck did you get here?"

"Oh, you didn't run that far. I followed your footprints earlier. It was about a 10 minute walk."

Izuku's face went red with embarrassment. And here he thought he had ran miles at best.

Katsuki, finally acknowledging the rain, stood up. "It's starting to pick up. We might want to start moving." Izuku agreed, standing to his feet as well. "Your lucky I brought our equipment. We would starve to death if I wasn't so diligent." Izuku rolled his eyes to Katsuki comment before picking up the handmade bag of water they had stored. And thus, they began on their journey once more.
