"She's with us," they all said.
The man gave a knowing wink and Epona jabbed her finger at him.
"You get your damned mind out of the gutter!" she shouted.
Vorenus pulled her aside.
"Easy," he said.
As Young Verus and Gnaeus Florus confronted the troublemaker, Vorenus followed Epona while she made rounds, assured more men, collected used towels, and restocked medications. Young Verus took her over and Vorenus made his way home, an idea forming in his mind.

Julia Livilla opened her eyes and stretched. She was ready for another dull day in Gaul. She got up to use the pot and waited for her handmaid to bring her breakfast. She could hear seven-month-old Marcellus fussing in the nursery as his nursemaid cleaned and fed him. Nervillus Bricius woke up and added to the racket until Antylla spoke to him and settled him for a feeding. Two-year-olds Antonillus and Honorillus bickered over a toy. Julia picked over the bread and cheese on her plate, wishing they would all just shut up. She was facing another day of nothing to do. She had been to all the shops in Gergovia, so there was no use going out.
She finished her tray and headed for the bath, hoping neither Aifa, Antylla, or Anerin's wife and mother were there. She had no desire to see any of them. After the windstorm, Appius and Artos had moved in with the Honoriuses. As repairs progressed, it became clear the entire house was unsound. Appius decided to raze it, and build a new home from scratch. Meanwhile, Vinicius and his wife initially stayed in the family quarters of the castrum while their home was being built. Julia decided that the accommodations there too small and drafty, so they moved in with Old Honorius and his wife. Anerin's home adjoined his father's, so the lifestyle Antylla had known in Antioch began anew. She was now a certified midwife with a growing practice, and could not be happier. Julia Livilla was just pissed. She settled in to the tepidarium to ponder her situation even more.
Aifa and Anerin's mother, Scota, joined her. They greeted her in Greek and stepped into the water, chatting in Gaulish. The message was clear. She was in Gaul, not Rome, and needed to learn at least some of the local language. Julia decided to ignore them. She was Roman and Gergovia was a Roman city conquered by Caesar. Romans spoke Latin or Greek. She heard one of Aifa's maids address her as riona, the Gaulish word for queen, and fought the urge to laugh. Antylla joined them. Iolarix was now acclaimed by the Sequannii and Parisii, so his wife was also a riona.
"Queen my ass," Julia muttered as she got out of the tepidarium.
"Excuse me?" Antylla said.
"Screw you," Julia snapped.
"What flew up your ass besides your own damn head?" Antylla asked as she left the pool and got in Julia's face.
Julia stared her down and squared off for a fight.
"That you're a queen," she said.
"And you find that amusing?"
"I think it's a joke, along with that long-haired husband of yours."
Her blood boiling, Antylla put her hand on Julia's throat and thrust her back into the pool.
"I don't find you amusing at all. In fact, I think you're a useless spoiled brat. This is Gaul, not Rome. Aifa and I rank here. You do not. And the more you step out of line, I'm going to get on your ass like the tiro you are."
Deciding she could take her bath later, Antylla dressed without drying off and left.
"Stew on that, Bitch!" Aifa snapped at Julia.
