"I guess I'm just in time," you announced your presence as you moved to the huge balcony so you could look down at JoJos figure. He was standing in the arena with Wamuu, and your eyes could also spot horses tied to carriages. You raised an eyebrow questioningly. "A horse race?"

Kars grinned down at your figure. "That's right. As soon as the moon appears behind this cloud, the duel begins." He declared before his sharp gaze went to you. "I'm glad to see you here, I first thought that you were not going to arrive at all." he expressed sadly as he moved closer to your side. You didn't even spare him a glance at his feigned concern.

Your eyes remained on the scene below you, and you then noticed how Elisabeth also looked at it a bit frantically from your side. She's probably quite nervous, like me. You watched as the Joestar was busy clearing his path of small and large pebbles. The race was about to start any second.

"JoJo, what are you doing! It's almost time!" Lisa Lisa shouted, angry.

But our protagonist just wiped away her frenzy with his signature grin. "I know, I know! The start is the most important thing, after all!" he exclaimed, stopping mid-sentence as his eyes spotted your figure. "Hey, you! Root for me, because I'm going to win, got it!?"

A slight smile graced your features, and you just gave him a thumbs up in response. You continued to watch intently as he continued to deal with the really irrelevant stones until the very last second, while the audience of vampires began to laugh at him. You could understand why it seemed ridiculous to some, but you didn't think that a smooth start was his real goal. He's probably trying to sabotage Wamuu somehow. He really acts like a mean child sometimes.

The moonlight finally shone down on you all, and Kars shouted the word Start! out in a loud voice to set things moving.

Joseph was the first to run up the track with his horses. The vampires who got to see this got into an uproar because Wamuu, on the other side, had great difficulty starting since he couldn't even move from his spot. You had to stifle a laugh when you saw his wheels get stuck. This is definitely his doing.

"JoJo! Don't get cocky and keep a clear head!" You yelled out after you saw the pillar man finally start to gallop after him. Even though he was at a disadvantage right now, that wasn't enough to call the fight decided.

It was a back and forth. No one could decide who would emerge victorious, as they both kept pulling another triumph out of their sleeves. It really was a good fight between the two, but it was not good enough to spend an entire chapter retelling the duel.

The most important thing to take away is that our protagonist won against the Pillar Man, and Wamuu died with pride as an honorable warrior.

You could see how his dust became one with the wind, and JoJo saluted his opponent one last time out of respect to bid him farewell in honor. Although he did not shed a tear, they had shared a silent sorrow and also a bond. You had to hand it to him, Wamuu wasn't a bad guy. You would even go so far as to say that you respected him. Unfortunately, on the other hand, the qualities you valued in him were exactly the ones that Kars and the other vampires looked down on.

"Your friends are so ridiculous they make me want to throw up," Lisa Lisa said, after hearing a few of Kars' followers behind her gushing over the man they had just been cheering for so much a few minutes ago.

You could only agree with her. "You how such a good way with words Elizabeth," you agreed, hardly caring about the small demonstration of power that Kars pulled off by drawing the blood of those vampires and removing the cloth from his head. Did it have anything to do with him showing off his horn? You didn't know what the reason behind it was because you didn't care, to be honest.

You raised an eyebrow. "What's going on?" you asked as you watched his followers gather around him, clearly about to violate your agreement. "I thought this was going to be one on one? I hate men who don't keep their word. Maybe it's better if we just destroy that stupid stone. Who knows, you might learn a valuable lesson then."

The pillar man just grinned as he stepped in front of you and nuzzled your ear. "Then it's a good thing that I always do as I say, hm?" he whispered before he leaned back again. "I can see you're in a pretty bad state. It would be better if you watched from the sidelines. As for my minions, they're already dead," he announced, whereupon the vampires' bodies split in two after he finished that sentence.

Your posture did not change. You still stood upright. "That's not for you to decide, but I appreciate your care," you spat out sarcastically, crossing your arms.

Before you could embellish your words any further, Elisabeth stepped towards you and held you back with an outstretched hand. "No. He's right. You should rest. I'll take the fight," she said, stepping to your side.

You sighed and nodded in defeat. "If you say so..." You spoke up and followed Kars wherever he led you. Of all three pillar men, he was the one you disliked the most. You didn't really know why, but something about him just sent a chill down your spine. It's probably because of his creepy personality.

The three of you followed Kars to the location where the fight between him and Lisa Lisa was to take place. It was a little further away from the arena and resembled a ruin. It was called the Temple at Piz Berlina, and victors once came here to drink the blood of the fallen mixed with schnapps. Without saying it out loud, you wished Elisabeth good luck. Somehow, you felt like JoJo was eager to say something too, though the situation seemed to make it quite difficult.

"Hey." the Joestar's voice finally sounded from your side. Meanwhile, his eyes were directed forward. He was avoiding looking at you. "Tell me exactly how old you are."

You hummed. The way he said it didn't really made it sound like he was asking you a question, but rather that he already knew the answer and just wanted to confirm his guess by hearing it come out of you. "As old as your grandmother," you replied with the truth.

"I see," he said. "Is the story about a distant relative even true? Who are you anyway?" he spat out a little bitterly with his arms crossed.

You wouldn't blame him. Though, now that the cat was out of the bag, you couldn't hide your identity any longer even if you wanted to. "I was a good friend of your grandfather back in the day," you answer him curtly. You'll have to save the long version for another time. "To the question of who I am? Well, just like your grandfather, I'm also a good friend of yours," you said with a small smile as you met his gaze. His face looked a little speechless at you, as if he hadn't really expected such an answer from you.

You then turned your head back to the scene in front of you. "Well, at least I would like to think we are."

His eyes were still on your figure for a moment before his gaze went back to the fight. Before he could reply with something, you interrupted him.

Your eyes narrowed angrily as you clenched your fists, "That bloody bastard," you said venomously as you saw Kars pierce Elizabeth from behind with his blade. He had used one of his minions as a distraction so he could ambush her. He hadn't planned to fight her fairly from the start.

I hate men who don't keep their word, but to openly lie to my face?
